Default Loosing weight but still feeling fat

    Hi ladies,

I feel tbis may be part rant part curious to see if anyone else feels like this.

So since the beginning of July i have been cycling to my vanilla job and have lost two dress sizes, i have gone from a uk14 to a uk10 in size!

However i still feel really fat and chubby. I eat a good healthy balanced diet and i do try to exercise as much as possible. The tops of my arms are still podgy, i still have a round tunmy which i hate and as the weight has come off my thighs my hips are even more curvy and boney!

I do love that my boobs look bigger because i have lost the fat around my ribs, my thighs are the thinnest they have been in years so i look smaller then i have done for a good 6 plus years. My bum looks great and perky and my face looks more defined so i am definately happy but i do still feel the old fat me. Is it just me struggling to adjust or is it quiet hard to go from being plump to actually being and feeling smaller? My goal is to reach 7 half stone and be around a uk size 6 to 8 so still a way to go.

Thanks for reading my silly post x

I do not know how tall you are or anything else really... so it is hard to say how much smaller you really are. IMO, you should definitely be happy you lost weight- you could either just be feeling like you haven't hit the goal you wanted just yet or you could have body dysmorphia.

Just riding a bicycle is not going to make your arms and stomach smaller. You need to do other types of exercise as well, Essentially you are just doing cardio.

Try Fascia blasting...intense massage...& Weight training. I'm chubby due to genetics so weight loss is an ordeal. I don't have a naturally skinny frame like Cameron Diaz . You may benefit from talking to a personal trainer.

You probably need to change your diet if your tummy is still round. This will help you lose more weight too.

If you wanna re-shape certain parts of your body you have to tone up and do full body workouts with emphasis on the problem areas. Riding a bike will only transform your legs. Other than that you will just be losing weight and just have a smaller version of the same shape and problems you had before. But still congratulations on your weight loss!

You're probably being too hard on yourself.

I mean its not like youre going to do a complete 180 in a few months sometimes it takes a while (several months or longer) to whiddle down/tone up. It can even take doing personal training to shape your body naturally.

Be glad for the success you already have while continuing your exercise and diet and it will come!

Also weight loss/body toning is part mental.....You literally have to tell yourself your body is on point (while continuing exercise / balanced diet)

And remember no ones body is perfect.

*Agreed with others who mentioned weights - muscle burns fat. Also interval training, you will burn fat even after the workout is over. Switch your workouts up because once your body becomes complacent, its like it becomes "tolerant" and no longer burns fat and you stay the same. Do fun stuff (skating, hiking, swimming, etc) that doesn't feel like workouts

Fascia blasting is under a huge lawsuit right now. Lots of horror stories about it.

Once you've done the diet, the next big thing is exercise. Toning makes a difference. For that, resistance training and weight training have worked for me. I use big rubber bands and some light weights. Also, lots of core work. Like forty-five minutes a day of core when I do other exercise. If all I do is core, then at least sixty minutes. That said, getting a flat tummy like I used to have is f'ing impossible, damnit!

Your inner dialog. You to calling yourself fat.

Time to change how you talk to yourself. Your brain is used to hitting those fat inner dialog that you've had with yourself for a long long time. It is the go to thinking process, it is a well worn out path. Taking a new path that needs to be pushing branches and objects out of the way or over them.

When you catch yourself on the fat path, Stop! and go a positive route instead with all the things you like about how you look now. You are already catching yourself and no amount of toning up or working out can change that old routine path your brain takes. You have to do it on purpose.

Thank you ladies for all your help, support and advise.

I know that to strip the fat you need to do the cardio first which is what i am doing then once thats back down then i start the toning up.
For those that asked i am just over five foot tall. Dont ask me what i weigh as i dont own a pair of scales.

Some days i think i am looking great, i can see that i have a really nice little frame with cute curves but then at other times i still feel like fat me. Dont get me wrong i have lost a lot of weight off my tummy already but my little tummy bump which sits just above my panties is what really annoys me. It always has and i have always had it, even when i did gymnastics.
I deserve the life i want. To be adored by men, treated like a princess and to be indulged. I deserve nothing but a life of luxury.

that is very wrong. it's super important to do weights at the same time, and probably the reason you still feel pudgy because all you do is cardio. you need that muscle.
