Default Net Neutrality Regulations REVIEWED and SCUTTLED

    https://www.politico.com/story/2017/...eal-fcc-251824

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai will reveal plans to his fellow commissioners on Tuesday to fully dismantle the agency's Obama-era net neutrality regulations, people familiar with the plans said, in a major victory for the telecom industry in the long-running policy debate.
The commission will vote on the proposal in December, some seven months after it laid the groundwork for scuttling therules that require internet service providers like Comcast or AT&T to treat web traffic equally.

President Donald Trump-appointed Pai’s plan would jettison rules that prohibit internet service providers from blocking or slowing web traffic or creating so-called paid internet fast lanes, the people familiar with the changes said.
Pai also will follow through on his plans to scrap the legal foundation that the FCC’s old Democratic majority adopted in 2015 to tighten federal oversight of internet service providers, a move he contends has deterred the industry from investing in broadband networks. Internet providers have feared that legal foundation, if left in place, could set the stage for possible government price regulation of internet service. CUTT

In Layman's terms is this better or are they going to scrap it and make it worse?

So why not monetize porn towards the US? To keep the hypocritical religious freaks happy? Marijuana is doing great. I see prostitution getting legalized too. Porn is just an after thought from Prostitution. What they need to do is give parents a better way to monitor their kids. And if you have a porn addiction you should be able to send a letter to your ISP and have those sites blocked no matter how much you beg.
I never blame the administration. They are just puppets with someone else controlling the strings. Kinda like how religious people refer to Jesus. Oh. He's going to come back. Better be good or you'll go to hell. Reminds me of Santa Clause for adults. So sad and pathetic. It's still so easy to scam people.

You don't know the history of porn.
You never blame the administration? Really, you do NOT hold elected officials to accountability in representing you? Which is the description of their JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is why we have elections & can replace them on a regular basis. Please go read up on your Civic Lessons.

You are really making me angry. Your ignorance on the subject of porn is astounding. ALL PORN used to be behind a pay wall until one company came into existence. There are sooo many new articles, pod cast, blogs over the past 8 years written about it. Fabian Thylmann to help you get started.

PORN is NOT an after thought from Prostitution. You are making the assumption that people, because both men & women watch porn, ONLY do so because they couldn't hire a hooker?

Porn addiction is just bullshit and so is sex addiction. It is men using it as an excuse for bad behavior and not owning up for cheating on their wives & such.
There are several NetNanny programs to keep your kids from seeing porn. Most people don't buy them & install them because..... they want to watch porn & don't care about their kids.

Now you have been on this board since 2004 and you don't know these things? I find that unfathomable.

It does NOT just affect porn. It will affect all kinds of businesses. A small new company will never be able to get a foot hold if right off the bat their upload speed is slower than a much bigger companies.

As for porn, so all of the gals who run solo sites will never be able to afford the fast speeds of major porn sites. We already have free porn tube sites that steal our content to compete with as it is now.

It gives huge corporations the internet & small start ups, small companies will be crushed. It will kill innovation. The internet gives everyone around the world a chance to make money on equal footing. It has created more millionaires & billionaires than anything else ever created. There are millions & millions of people all around the world who make money through the internet. It will CRUSH the incomes of a billion people or more.

But keep thinking it is a Porn thing MARE.

On top of what you pay for your internet you will have to a monthly fee to watch video on youtube, a fee for Facebook, a fee for twitter, a fee for Amazon a fee for just about everything you want to see on the internet or it will load much much slower.

Pretty much the Internet will become a pay for play if our special needs president Trump has his way. Want someone to stream your site and have a decent connection speed that will cost your customers and your business more. Preferential treatment to certain businesses will be de rigueur. Large conglomerates like the one AT&T is building with the Time Warner purchase will control the Internet and your content.

In other words girls and boys, lube up, bend over and expect to pay more.

Oh, I agree with Sam38G, porn is not a form of prostitution. There's a lot of great literature that was once called porn. Someday there will be a great movie that will have been called porn too, damned if I can think of one right now though. Also, porn addiction is just another manifestation of OCD behavior or in the case of a so-called hypersexual woman, just having the same sexual appetite as the normal man.

Some people consider all nudity porn & some call it the classical art. Plenty of porn all over famous museums walls and statues across the world.

    It is censorship.

The internet leveled the playing field and so much technology, ingenuity, creativity & people to start their own business because of it has been REVOLUTIONARY. The internet is another Industrial Revolution & this will be the ending of it so that only a very few corporations get to monetize & profit off of it.

It is also racist. Due to the internet based upon talent, knowledge & creativity is the driving force. You can find ways to make money without your race, sex, religion being a factor.
Do you care who created your favorite app? What if those in control decided it did and didn't allow that app to go live?

You don't know the history of porn.> You're absolutely right here. Why is this bothering you so much?

You never blame the administration? Really, you do NOT hold elected officials to accountability in representing you? Which is the description of their JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is why we have elections & can replace them on a regular basis. Please go read up on your Civic Lessons. > Why would I bother? Civic lessons? Has that gotten you very far?? I really don't invest alot into what any administration is doing. As one person it's a waste of my time and resources. They are going to do whatever they are going to do.

PORN is NOT an after thought from Prostitution. You are making the assumption that people, because both men & women watch porn, ONLY do so because they couldn't hire a hooker? > Listen. All hail the mighty queen. I wouldn't want to piss you off. My opinions are different than yours on some things. Doesn't make you right. I'm glad you're making the assumption that what you are reading into it is what I was thinking. That is ignorant. I'm saying. Porn isn't as bad as prostitution to most people (Let me qualify that again since you're so angry - to most people. )

Now you have been on this board since 2004 and you don't know these things? I find that unfathomable.[/QUOTE]> Like everything else alarmist: let's wait and see what really happens.

I just give up here. Hold onto that anger if you need to. But since you felt the need to call me out. I felt the need to respond. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Porn is NOT prostitution. People pay to see my videos, I am under zero obligation to have sex with them in person.

TRump is President. He did away with Equal Pay for women law. He is undermining & ruining every agency that protects EVERYTHING. Of course, we all should be alarmed.

FCC wants to determine what we see & what we can't online. Which is against "Freedom of Speech". It isn't just about speeding up or slowing down certain sites it is censorship.
Freedom of Speech is the very law that protects porn.

Calling your representative in Congress lets them know they won't be re-elected if they destroy the internet for a few corporations profit margins. Nothing improves or gets better if we dont speak up.

This is America & Trump wants to be a dictator. This FCC thing helps him control the narrative & keeping the truth of what he is doing from coming to light. I don't want those who own Brietbart controlling the online media.

I support net neutrality, but am not sure this is the end of the world, as of yet. The real problem is limited ISP's. This may become partially moot with 5G service that is supposed to have speeds similar to wired internet, meaning there will be the possibility of competition compared to the cable company or nothing

Porn is NOT prostitution. People pay to see my videos, I am under zero obligation to have sex with them in person.

Once again, and this is getting redundant, this is not what I'm saying. I actually support the legalization of prostitution. Why would I waltz in here and shame the prostitutes?? I read your reply on the other thread and I will answer it here. YES I CAM. If I thought porn was prostitution I wouldn't be doing it. At this point in time it's just not my thing.

But keep thinking it is a Porn thing MARE. > Ok, so I'm not pissed off at all. Upon rereading I guess this was something you felt I wasn't thinking about. Sure. I see your point. It's not just a porn thing. But to this form, that's extremely relevant from a camgirl pov. I'm mostly concerned about how this will affect customers being able to view us and us being able to afford upload speeds.

So before we derail the thread:

A.) I was concerned about what I had heard might happen
    B.) I found this thread
C.)I expressed the fact that I was wondering wtf was going on with that.
    D.)I received some good answers.

So by undoing Obama's net neutrality the internet becomes pay to play and we're all fucked because even if WE can afford good internet our customers may not be able to?

    Am I getting this?
