    Default Nails?

Hi Everyone! I'm a (hopefully) soon to be baby stripper! I have a very specific question regarding nails. I've always bitten mine and they're short. Super short. I plan on auditioning tomorrow night. Should I go ahead and get a fake set until I grow mine out? I know it's important to go in well dressed and done up, so I don't want my tiny nails to drag me down. The only reason I hesitate is that my day job is a dog groomer, and I do have a membership at my local pole gym and I've never poled with nails. They're too short for drug store glue-ons, so I'd definitely have to get acrylics. Am I being too nitpicky about em?

Edit: if it helps, I want to audition at a Spearmint in Fl.

Do not go in with chewed up nails. Have you ever had acrylics? You decide how long you want them.

i have a really bad nail biting problem and i use the "kiss" brand press-ons. 9/10 guys cannot tell they're cheap press ons and i've gotten plenty of compliments. i suggest doing that for now maybe? they sell them at wal mart, cvs, etc

i used to go to the nail salon but my nail biting is so bad that whenever i got stressed i'd literally chew and rip my whole acrylics off which really sucks and gets expensive when you're getting $50 manis. it's nbd when i do it to my $6 ones and they look fine

ETA: crap i just saw yours are too short for that. are you sure though? mine are total nubs, down below my finger, bad. i just use extra glue and basically glue them onto part of my finger idk how to explain it

    Definitely get the nails.

If you can't/don't want to rock long nails just get a short acrylic french mani. It's a simple polished look that will work in every club and still looks "done up" even on very short nails.

Thanks ladies! I got my nails done and had them cut fairly short. Long enough that I have nails and short enough to not get in the way of my day job. I initially only wanted them so I looked better for my audition, but it's amazing how much just having feminine nails improved some of my confidence!

Get the acrylics while you grow your nails out. You can get them removed at the salon and start doing normal gel manicures whenever you feel ready.
A gel manicure is good if you have a biting problem because its less likely to chip naturally and they just look so beautiful and they're of course less pricey to maintain. good luck!

I do my own gel tips. They are usually done but there are times I dance on the in-between days when my nails are bare and super short. I don't think it hurts your hustle too much, but having them done is a plus.

I used to have acrylics longer than a motherfucker for nearly a year but towards the end my nails were constantly getting ripped off and it would hurt like a MASSIVE bitch. I took them off a few months ago and generally keep them short with a clear glossy coat. I feel so much more natural and free.
If I were you I would NOT get acrylics and go with a manicure instead with a deep red colour.

How do you get them not to pop off? I've tried those a few times just to play around and no matter what I do they pop right off. I don't bite my nails so I just glue them straight to the nail....should I glue them to the skin instead? I mean, they come off with something as simple as doing a dish so I can't imagine because able to dance with them. I must be doing it wrong.

Glad you got the nails and that they won't interfere with doing your day job. I get mine done and yes, it does help boost confidence.

I think even if they're cut short with a super shiney clear nail polish, that's doable too. As long as they don't look chewed up, like someone mentioned.
