Good questions!
I live in Houston where there are already too many stripclubs. Setting up a virtual strip club would cost a fraction of the price of a real one, and, if successful, would be a lot more profitable. It would also be a lot of fun, because, it would ride on the cutting of technology.
A cam studio is a good idea, but, very expensive, so it may be 'stage 2' of the project, after revenues start pouring in. A decent VR camera can cost about $15,000, and, we may need a dozen of then for peak times. We'd also need a large place that can be divided into a dozen small 'VIP rooms'.
I think if it is cheap enough, a guy (or girl) may buy 10 lap dances and end up paying $20 each time he (or she) visits. Maybe I should make it $5 per lap dance - pasties and bikini bottoms, and, $10 per lap dance fully nude (a little dirty, but, no overt sex acts). VR porn costs about $20 per month, so, we would have to stay competitive with that. I don't think anyone would pay more than that when real lap dances cost $20.
Hiring requirements would depend on customers' requests. We would start off with a diverse set of beautiful girls and see where expansion is necessary to meet demand. E.g., if Asian girls are very popular, we would hire more Asian girls, etc. Also, we would cater to different fantasies, like, some dancers could dress in thigh high leather boots and behave very dominant, and, others could behave very submissive and wear a schoolgirl uniform, etc.
I was thinking about making it like a real strip club - free to come in, walk around, etc., but, private lap dances cost money on a per dance basis. First dance is mild, and each dance progresses to become a little sexier.
As far as the cut for the performers, that was my question and one of the main reasons for posting this thread. I asked, "As far as compensation for the dancers, there could be one of two compensation structures - (1) small royalty payment every time a customer pays to watch their lap dance video (it would be a small amount per dance, about half a dollar, but, it could add up quickly depending on the traffic), or (2) a fixed payment per each hour of video. Which payment structure would be more attractive to dancers? If you would prefer a fixed payment, what would be your minimum asking price?"
The point of posting this thread is to get some industry research and ideas to help me fill-in those details.
Compared to a real-life strip club experience -
The downside of a VR SC:
(1) its not real (but, then again, neither is the act you get from a real dancer),
(2) you do not FEEL a real dancer on your lap, and
(3) there is very little interaction with the dancer (unless the lap dance is live in real time, and this becomes more like a VR camming),
The upside of a VR SC:
(1) very convenient; you do not have to leave your home,
(2) very cheap,
(3) very good VISUALS cause your brain/imagination to fill in the gaps missing with the other senses, otherwise, no one would be interested in watching porn. (The graphics of VR are already amazing and the technology is rapidly developing), and
(4) you can masturbate during an erotic lap dance to reach a full climax compared to (none-extras) lap dances that can leave you sexually frustrated.
