Question Newbie, Vegas local, and don't want to leave to find easier starting cities

Long time lurker here. I haven't started stripping yet, but I have my sheriff's card and have auditioned at Sapphire's (and was promptly rejected).

I've probably read and re-read the newbie, stripping, and hustle hut boards and many posts from other boards, too. Everything I'm reading has me very intimidated about dancing in Vegas. I'm a pretty girl and I get mistaken for a teen a lot, but I'm not barbie girl hot. I auditioned at Sapphire's, they had me change, looked me over, and told me they're not hiring. I politely called the manager out on that and told him he wouldn't have asked me to change if they weren't hiring. I asked him what he thinks I can work on, but he only managed to mumble out that I should try again the following month. That was about 2 months ago and I haven't tried again because I feel like the answer will be the same everywhere except for dives.

I think the issue is the shape I'm in. I'm a b cup with 34-29-36 measurements and I weigh 130 lbs at 5'6. I'm skinny, but definitely not toned. I'm going to work on my waist, but is there anywhere in the city that I can do well and feel safe at until I'm in better shape. I really want to be dancing in time for convention season, especially CES.

I'm also not willing to leave the city. This is my home. Everyone and everything I love is here and I'm not ready to leave. I'm very familiar with Vegas culture as a whole so it's not like I'm walking into the hornet's nest without a clue. I've also been in vanilla sales jobs and done very well, but I was miserable because I don't do well mentally in cubicle farms for several reasons. I just need to get my foot in the door and can use some recommendations, advice, or even just some encouragement. Thank you much, ladies!!!

The good news is you're an hourglass, the bad news is your hip to waist ratio needs to be more drastic. This industry is very superficial, the high end look is tall and slender. No one who is average height and average weight is going to be called skinny in a strip club, I'm 5'5 and 37-26-37 118lbs. That means in a strip club I'm the curvy one, not the skinny one. For now you can buy a corset and work at a mid tier club while you lose weight and tone. Do not go back to sapphire til you've shaved a couple inches off your waist.

i've spent a lot of time in vegas ever since i was a kid- lived in north vegas/went to high school out there for my junior year and lived in summerlin as a dancer later on. i moved away like a year n a half ago so take my advice w a grain of salt since things may have changed a bit

but i'd say try crazy horse 3 first and if you don't get hired there, try cheetahs next. it's not top tier but also not a dive. you don't sound like you're in bad shape but idk how you carry your weight. sapphire/rhino can be super fickle.. after you work somewhere else first you should definitely go back there and try again.

also. what day of the week did you try to get hired? try a slow weekday if you haven't already.. or even day shift (definitely not during or right before any sort of convention or event) then try to move up from there. it takes a while to get to know the staff since they're used to a constant whirlwind of new faces but if you live there and are able to go in consistently, esp slower weekday shifts they'll start to remember you after a few months.

Is being short a disadvantage to getting hired at the top tier clubs? I’m only 5’2 and even with my Pleaser shoes I still am smaller than all the girls when we go on stage

Wow, those are some impressive measurements, vanessa_mtl. I would think that would give you an advantage on the very skinny girls. My measurements sound hourglass, but my curves can only be seen from the side. From the front, I'm a rectangle. I'll have to hit up body business for some recommendations. I'm considering corset training. Not sure I'd wear it to the club, it feels to altsy-looking for Vegas, but I'll scope out the fashion at some of the other clubs and see if it'll work.

Thank you for the recommendations. I'm not sure how well I'll do auditioning for CH3 since they require pole dancing in their auditions and I'm not experienced in that, but I'll give it a try and I'll definitely look at Cheetahs. I was also considering Hustler's, but I've heard it's an extras club and I just don't feel like competing with that.

Unfortunately, because I'm small boned, though it's not a bad problem to have, any extra fat I carry looks like chub on me. With the exception of my behind, I do not carry a lot of weight well so I have to be conscientious of that. That being said, I don't necessarily look bad. I have long-term girlfriend body when what I need is stripper body.

I almost wonder if it might be worth it to stay at a mid-tier club with a high tier body in Vegas. I'll give all the clubs a try when I look like I belong there, but I know for fact I'd get laughed out of Rhino if I tried now so it wasn't even on my radar. They aren't kidding about having the hottest women in Vegas from what I've seen.

It definitely didn't help that I auditioned during the McGregor/Mayweather fight on a Saturday. Those women were top of their game. Sapphire only auditions from 7pm-midnight which sucks because in my street clothes during the day, the manager was falling all over himself to help me get a sheriff's card application from the cage. I'll put this advice to good use at the other clubs, though.

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any thoughts on Deja Vu? I get mixed information, some like it some hate it. The "hate it" crowd brings up that it's corporate a lot, but so is Rhino so I don't know.

i don't think so for ch3.. they take you to a back little satellite stage and you do a one song dance, but they ask that you don't do any tricks. they're just making sure you don't look completely awk and are hot without your top. i am absolutely shit on the pole and it was never an issue for me.

and hustler does have extras but i worked there and made money without doing any. i tipped the hosts like $60 a night when i made good money and they always helped me find tables that didn't require extras. at rhino i'd tip a $100 chip and they wouldn't even say thanks or remember my name!

I was told not to do any pole tricks when I auditioned at CH3. They said to just walk around and take my top off ASAP. I bet you would be able to get hired at cheetahs. As far as deja vu goes some people hate it some people like it. I feel like there’s a lot of varying opinions on almost every club lol. Usuallly best to check it out yourself I have made money at lots of places people said were awful. I hope you find a club you like!

Would you try Glitter Gulch? Fremont Street actually draws an eclectic crowd most of the time.

If you just run or do other cardio like swimming, elliptical, cycling, etc... the weight will melt of your waist. Corset training isn't exercise. It's not the answe though it could help.

And yes, it can be an advantage when guys want "ass" and it is often a disadvantage when people say how much do you weigh? You're so real to work here. Just trying to help you understand the way bodies are looked at in the meat market of the club my friend who is 5"2 110lbs perfect ass, model face, runs everyday gets told she has an average body for a Latina. You need body positivity to do this job and you need to also know this is not for the faint of heart.

Oh, that's not so bad. I can look sensual on a pole. I honestly might pay not to be in rotation if that's an option, but I guess I'll have to see if that helps or hurts my money once I've been doing it for awhile.

It's funny, one of the VIP hosts from Hustler just did an ama on reddit last night. He seemed pretty pleasant from his responses.

Yeah, I've read some unfortunate things about Rhino's staff and management on here. That's too bad because it seems like a top quality club otherwise :/

Thank you so much for all the comprehensive information. It really helps. I'll likely report back here when I audition again at some other places, probably toward the end of this month.

That makes me feel better since I've only been on a pole a few times. No pole tricks? Aww, if they insist haha. For some reason, I wasn't thinking of Cheetahs so thank you for the suggestion.

That's a good point. I'm sure the hustle is different everywhere especially with how many clubs are out here.

    Thank you for the advice!

As long as I get to keep my butt, I'm all for it, haha. Definitely going to focus any weight training on my lower body for now and mainly do cardio. Thank you, I was thinking I'd have to do some mad ab workouts to look acceptable. I'm hoping to drop another 15 pounds in a couple months with clean eating and lots of exercise.

I appreciate the heads up. It makes me feel better (and simultaneously infuriates me) that even the hottest girls have to deal with criticism. Sometimes, I think it's just me, but it's a good reminder that we all have to deal with it.

I'm certainly not faint-hearted when it comes to customers. I've been called horrible things, received death threats, etc at my vanilla jobs. My only concern is how I'll get along with the other girls, but my plan is to just keep my head low and off everyone's radar until I feel people out. Should be easy to keep to myself with all the megaclubs and travelling strippers we have out here, though.

You can definitely get hired as is, just some places are crazy picky and so are some customers.

Do you have to have a business license to audition? Or do they give you a grace period? I have my sheriffs card already.

Hey, I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’m 22 (will be 23 on the 29th) and I really want to try to tackle Vegas but I always chicken out I’ve lived here for about a year and been hired a spearmint (never worked), cheetahs (worked one night) and OGs before they closed (2 nights), but I’m still newbie AF. HMU if you’d like to link up.

I’m curious about that too, I’ve been told it depends on the club and varies. Mind just expired.
