    Default When travel dancing...

Not sure where to put this. When travel dancing, what is your limit for spending on hotels? How long do you typically stay in a city?
Really want to do some dancing up north but San Fran is FUCKIN EXPENSIVE and I want some insight on what reasonable amount I should be spending on a hotel room each night and how long I should make each trip.

theres some crappy "European style" hotels there which means you share a bathroom and shower with other rooms. I stayed for a month in one right off of Market St for 1400. The room itself was clean with a nice bed, cable tv, microwave, and sink. But the sharing bathrooms is not for me. There is also one for the same price or cheaper and closer to all the strip clubs. This is the cheapest I found ((I was there last year)), but would love to know if there is cheaper. There are also hostels (In very nice neighborhoods)! The private rooms are super expensive, but the shared rooms are pretty cheap. BUT you have to be able to handle staying with other girls, and sharing a shower.

Would it be other girls in the industry or random women also renting the rooms? Definitely do not feel comfortable having my stuff where people know I’m dancing/bartending and will have cash on me...

I second staying at a hostel. Nobody needs to know you're a dancer, just rent a private room for like $60-70 a night. Dress low key when you leave your room. You can bring all your dancer stuff in a suitcase when you travel to and from the club and nobody will bat an eyelash. In california it's a lot of foreigners and hippies. The shared bathroom is a pain, but if you're like me and sleep in until noon after working a night shift, you should be fine. As for cash on hand, you could deposit your money in the bank via ATM at the end of your shift or keep a small safe in your suitcase/car.

I only do weekends at a time. I try to cap it at 150 a weekend if i book advance enough. I usually get a pretty decent place to myself. Or stay with friends.

hostels are for people who live out of the area. mostly random foreign people are in the SF hostels. I have never had a problem with people stealing my personal items in my room, but I have had people take my food from the community kitchen. but having a kitchen is a huge plus and you can save a lot of $$. read the reviews on the hostel websites and be sure to stay away from the ones that are notorious for partying....everything will be cleaner :-D

Allow for me chimed in about San Francisco's extended stay hotels and hostels. Personally, I would not stay hostels there because I like SF's extended hotels better. However, you can rent an weekly room at Mayflower for 800 to 1000 per month. Best hostel to me in San Francisco would be Fort Mason because it was pretty clean and everyone was really nice. I would avoid Hotel North Beach due to their changing their rates every week you stay there.Plus, their attitudes towards certain peoples. If you have enough money, you could stay at SF's many corporate stay hotels. Or you could always stay outside of the city such as South San Francisco or Daly City, however, SSF is way better than Daly City when it comes to clean and affordable extended stay options.Places like Hotel V are pretty good depending on your budget. Best of luck!

I'm curious about traveling to dance as well.
I live in Seattle and have commuted to Portland the few times I have danced in a club. However, we all know there is a ton of money to be made in Las Vegas and hotel and airfare out there are super cheap, so I was wondering how does one get their foot in the door at one of those clubs?

Also, I have much more of a "Portland Stipper" aesthetic (curvy hips, small breasts, pink mid-length hair and heavily tattooed), and I noticed that the girls in Vegas generally have a more traditional look (blonde or brunette weave, super muscular, boob job, tan, etc). Do I even stand a chance to make any money in Vegas, or in other cities for that matter?

I have never stayed in a hostel always hotel or Airbnb or clubs accommodation. A private room is essential to me to recharge.

I don't live in SF area per say but in the bay area & I have been bouncing around from airbnbs for around 200 a week or so. I also get the rooms that are sometimes shared but not shared. They're makeshift rooms with walls & a locked door for half of what a real room is. I still have to share a bathroom & kitchen with other ppl but to me it's worth it bc fuck being tied down somewhere for too long LOL.

I'm also a cam girl not a stripper anymore, not that it matters.

@gothbarbie do you find it hard to cam while sharing space at an airbnb?

@Kikilemieux I'm also wondering the same about vegas. from what I read here it seems like heavily tattooed and curvy doesn't work at the majority, but maybe theres some clubs that it does work at? there has to be some right?

@donadiabla thank you so much for the update on the extended stay hotels <3

Stay at the Green Tortoise Hostel. It's right next to all the clubs and about $35 a night. ( if you can stand the lack of privacy ), I would get extra sheets and build a fort around a bottom bunk, ha.

That’s a pretty good price! Who else usually frequents hostels? Any sketchiness?!

if you have strip trip buddies, you could share a private room with a bathroom at a hostel. that's ideal.

The Hotel Europe is upstairs from Little Darlings in SF they give discounts to people that work in the strip clubs. Many dancers, bounces, and Djs stay there.

Airbnb? If you have a car, you can stay outside of the city for much cheaper.

I am from Seattle too. You can get hired in Vegas with tattoos. However, if you have a lot of tattoos you will have to be extremely hot. What you have heard of Vegas is true, the girls are gorgeous and hiring standards are high. The best way to get hired and make money is to have a natural glam look (no weird hair colors), be fit, look like you take care of yourself and you put the most effort into your appearance.

No one is answering you in this thread bc this thread is about travel and not about getting hired in Vegas.

my new years resolution is to travel. I want to hit up at least one city every month. I dance, so i figured that if i dance on the road, i can offset some of my travel costs.

I seem to have hit a bit of a stumbling block. A lot of clubs I've been calling for my upcoming trip to Baltimore just flat out do not higher traveling dancers. are there specific clubs that are more lenient with it? do you have to go back to the same cities with a degree of frequency to be considered? I know that for Portland and Atlanta i have an intimidate in because my club has branches there but past that, i could use all the advice i can get...
