I wouldn't count on it.

So, should I just tell them I'd rather be a dancer when I get written up?

Yes, honesty is better. It will be the same management. Most use the waitress gig to turn the hotter ones into dancers eventually.
Good Luck,
Give it a few weeks and try.
If this club has more girls than customers, wouldn’t it be wiser to waitress and get guaranteed payment than to become a dancer and take a chance of not selling any dances?

I'll let them know the reason I applied was to eventually transition. Those waitresses are extremely competitive and it's draining, in my opinion, to compete over tables where people tip one dollar.

Yes, that's a good idea but they are over scheduling the waitresses, in my case. Too many waitresses.... I wouldn't have made much if it wasn't for a few strippers.

Plenty of clubs have way too many waitresses on the floor, which ensures that customers get the best service. It will be just as competitive as a stripper. It is much easier to get $1 out of 20 guys than it is $20 out of one.
As a waitress you have the opportunity to approach each guy, flirt & sell him drinks. It is up to you to get more than $1 out of every drink you serve. Which will help you once you transition over to being a stripper.
You are going to have to learn how to hustle. This time lets you get to know who has money & spends it compared to those who don't. You help the dancers make money & they will help you make money.
Getting to know every customer by name & making him feel welcomed with a bright smile & telling him how happy you are he is there. Getting them to buy more expensive drinks than they ordered, getting them to buy the dancer a drink. You need to be up selling which will help your tips.
It is NOT easy to work in clubs, it is highly competitive.

It definitely is competitive. I couldn't go in last night because my friend who was going to babysit found out I'm working at a strip club and refused to do so. I didn't call in on purpose but I felt I should just dance days. I could only get a sitter on certain days. If I explained this scenario with a manager do you think they'd understand? I still want to waitress.

^ Get organized. Get a regular sitter and go back and try it. They can say no if they are strict but most likely they will give you another shot.
Is this a club with a set schedule for entertainers?
Usually dancers work when they want ( one of the main perks ). You might find you can come and go more dancing .

I believe the dancers are able to come and go as they please. I live far from the club so I'd rather just have my own schedule. If I do become a dancer I'm going to need to learn some stage/pole moves. Haha, I noticed some girls do pole work while others mostly just crawl around. I'd prefer to start as a daytime dancer so I don't have a high house fee. Hopefully they work with me as a waitress so I can save enough for bills, heels and outfits.
Maybe. Waitresses are on a schedule and dancers can usually just work whenever so they might be willing to hire you back as a dancer since it wont matter if you're not "reliable" because you're not on a schedule anyways and they dont really care if you dont show up because someone else will.

I told them I had an availability when I applied and a girl who had just quit still had uncomplete shifts on the schedule so he put my name where hers was (he was in a rush.. it took 2 minutes to hire me and told me come im another day to do paperwork and start) but then when I got home I noticed it was the days I said I couldn't go in. I called him and told him about it and he said just come in the other days and we will see. He wasnt there the days I worked so I called in and a guy I never spoke to threatened me with a write up. He was extremely rude and now I'm worried they are going to just threaten me more if I can't work the schedule of the girl who quit before I even started!!!
I hope they will understand......... but yes, I'd much rather have my own schedule. I think they should give me a chance since that was someone else's schedule to begin with.
