Sad I want to start off as a daytime dancer because...

I'm beginning to think the club I work at is a dive bar or just ghetto, in a sense. I'm not putting anyone down but the customers that go there are cheap and tip me one dollar for a drink. The only way I actually make tips as a waitress is when I am lucky enough to serve or encounter generous people. Also, they over staff all of the waitresses lately. So, I made significantly less than I usually do due to them hiring 3 new girls. 13 waitresses were working at once and the place wasn't even that busy.......

Please do not get offended but also it annoys me to no end when the dancers pick the same song every night to dance to. I get bored easily. It's almost usually just rap and I hate rap unless it's 90's rap and older. Haha I'm in my twenties but I just love old school stuff. We are allowed to have our opinions... I personally would choose rock. I noticed the girls who dance to rock only dance on Fridays but they are very sparse.

Would I make money if I chose classic rock? I would look weird dancing to rap. I'm a petite girl with not much to shake.

Anyways, I would like to become a dancer but oddly I do not think I'd enjoy working night shift because it seems like customers just go to drink. Men and women go sit there and drink and I thought strip clubs were for mostly men? So, I noticed the men who go in with women don't even get dances.......... they treat it as a regular bar...... maybe I'm just being overly critical.

Please excuse my long rant. Anyways, I'm not the party type nor would I want to get drunk at work. I'd basically prefer to work as a dancer without having to be around the young party crowd or the husband and wife crowd who just watch from afar.

Do you think day shift would be better for me? The club I work at is 10 dollar dances, 25 vip and I forget the champagne room price.

Do you think as a new dancer with no experience that I'd be able to make at least 200 on day shift? Keep in mind I have no dancing experience. Any tips

    The club opens at noon.

The beauty of this business is that you can hop from club to club, to find out which one fits for you. Try it. If it sux, keep trying other clubs.

I don't think anyone can tell you how much you can make. That depends on your sales skills and the type of clientele that comes in.

In my experience more extras on day shift and Florida is an extras state. Why day shift?

Also, what Vyanka says is true. If you can hustle and get hired you can make money anywhere.

If you've only waitressed a night shift at this club, there's really no way to tell what day shift is like until you go in during one. But if you know you don't like the vibe of night shift, there's no harm in trying out day shift. If they both suck, you can look for a different club.

There's really no way to predict how much you'll make until you go in and try a few shifts. And in terms of music, do your best to tailor it to the clientele. There's always some space for personal taste and being different to stand out, but if all the customers in the club are younger and like rap, you don't want to be chasing them off with country music or something lol Classic rock is usually a pretty benign choice so I would give it a go, but keep an eye out for the reaction you get.

You should try both for a couple weeks and decide. Day shift isn’t horrible there’s just less going on.
The pros to day shift are that most guys who come in usually are there to buy dances instead of bullshit around. This is when a lot of regulars come in. Also businessmen on their breaks.
Gotta get those Friday/Saturday nights in though!

dayshifts and classic rock are both good things that can make you lots of money. and 200 shouldn't be unreasonable but your club sounds shitty so idk. why can't you find a different club?

Dayshift can be very good, I say go for it and try it out. But I find it's generally filled w either more experienced hustlers, or girls who have no hustle and train customers to sit for free.

Day shift at a higher end club can be good and I've worked day shift a few times at one and while $200 is attainable, it's definitely a stretch. Your location is Florida... I'm a FL dancer too and find that the average day shift here is ridden with extras and I find that most successful day shift girls have their regulars on call to come in. If you're more into the idea of making loyal regulars and enjoy slower paced environment, day shift may be good for you but I say give night a try.
Once I tried night, I never went back to day

    Good luck!

Why do you care about what other people play on stage? When you dance then you choose the music you want, unless the club sets the rules for what type of music is being played.

Their choice of music is perfect for their dance moves & hustle. I've seen knock down drag out fights when one stripper plays another one's song. It becomes your signature, your dance routine. You get outfits to match that song.

Why do girls play the same songs over and over again? They are tried & true songs that have made them money in the past. There are certain songs that made me bank no matter what State or club I worked in through out the years. While you maybe bored with them, the dancer may not be. And since you are not tipping or buying dances, doesn't matter what you think,

You are bored? Really, cause a hustler is NEVER bored, they find something to do to impress the boss or how to make money. The dancers on stage don't care if you don't have the body it takes to shake to the type of music you are complaining about. Those songs work for them.

You want to tell management how to run their business based upon how if affects your money & not the clubs. Now you want to tell the dancers what music to play & how it wil make them more money.

It's not about going hard on you, but trying to open your eyes beyond just what is in it for you.

You work in a bar, doesn't matter what kind of bar it is, there will be drunks. There will be those on staff who indulge a bit too much, comes with the territory.

You want people who post on here to go easy on you, while you are being critical of the club, the other waitresses, dancers, the music played & managers and now customers.

This is so true. I am soon to be checking out some other clubs and hopefully I will find one that is more suitable!

I'm starting to think the club is pretty shitty. I never tried looking for another club and I asked the other girls and they have nothing good to say of the others. For example, they state that the pretty girls are at our club and the ugly, ghetto girls are at the other.... or that the customers are horrible at the other clubs.....Perhaps I should check it out myself though.

Hey girlie, I'm staying in Texas now with some family but originally from Florida. Haha, I definitely do not want to encounter men who expect anything more than a dance. Yeah, I'll give day and night a try once I get started!

I need day shift because it would fit my schedule until I'm able to do nights. I'm from Florida but I'm currently in Texas. True, I just need to learn to hustle!

IME i've noticed that girls who can't get hired at a better club will often talk trash on it (or they got fired, or didn't make money etc). i would learn the ropes of stripping at your current club and then go check out others.

While appreciate your blunt advice, I do think you take everything I write too seriously. I do not "care" what anyone plays but when you have to waitress and the club is dead and there's an overstaff of waitresses and the same song gets played 10 times by the same girl all night then yes it is pretty damn annoying. There was more waitresses than there were dancers and just like any human I'm sure you've been annoyed by things unless you are immaculate.

And yes I was pretty damn bored because out of all 10 customers all 8 were on tabs! I don't see how anyone could hustle in a slow ass club.

I also think you should stop confusing me for other posters on this site. When did I ever tell management anything...? I appreciate everyone's advice but I have noticed that you're always so rude to the ladies who come on here asking for advice. Maybe take a midol..

You do give good advice at times and at first you were my favorite person on here but you keep confusing me for other posters on here. I don't need people to go "easy" on me but there's a thing called empathy.

You can always put users on your “ignore” list. Highly recommended.
