Dizzy Would I Possibly Make It in LA? Plus a bunch of other little newbie questions

Hello. I'm well aware Los Angeles is a competitive area, so I'd like to know how you ladies think I stack up.

I have no experience dancing, but I'm trying to learn how to twerk, do some contortionist poses, and maybe learn a few floor routines. I also plan on practicing lap dances on one of my friends to prepare myself. Should I try to learn pole dancing, too? And if so, how good do I have to be at it, considering it's in the Los Angeles area? I'm comfortable walking in high heels (I already own pleasers because of how I regularly dress, lol). The one thing I don't want is that I feel a lot of clubs in the LA area are instagram/social media centric and I don't want my photos, at least of my face, getting out. Also, is it okay that I tend to like older pop music hits than new ones (like as in, is anyone going to get annoyed at that?)? The other strike against me is that I know for a fact I'm a clumsy person, but is anyone really going to care if I'm on stage? Should I try to practice strip routines, too, or do those come naturally? Do you strip during lap dances if it's only a nude bar, or do you still strip off your top if it's a topless bar, or do you only strip on stage (like, you always come out clothed, but what happens after a few lap dances, do you get your clothes on again, or hell, is it better to just be naked most of the time if it's a nude club?)?

Sorry for all my questions, I just want to be super prepared and mind you, these are questions that I haven't found my answer to on the internet so far (I've spent days and days doing this, haha).

Also, I'd love to be able to PM any of you who work in the area because I'd like to list the clubs I'm considering, but once again, privacy concerns....

Shit, a few more questions I have:
I look very young without makeup. Should I use this to my advantage some nights, or no, do people always want a glammed up doll? Also, is it bad to switch up my "personality" for nights, like some nights is it alright if I act coy and innocent, but then others more dominant and aggressive (in a good way)? Or will that hurt me in the long run, do people always want a sex-obsessed nympho who can hold good conversation?

There are threads to literally every single question you’ve asked...
There are tons of clubs in LA I’m sure one of them will hire you... go audition and see. I suggest you go in to one as a customer to get a feel for it and see the girls.
California laws you cannot be nude in private dances, only on stage.
Do your hair and makeup, invest in one or two outfits that you like, dance to what you feel sexy dancing to, act like yourself, and don’t overthink anything.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'd rather ask annoying questions here than at the club, I thought it'd be more efficient if I could get all my answers at once. I guess it's to advanced search I go.

you could answer all of these questions yourself, way better than anyone here can, if you just get a friend to go into some clubs with you as a customer. it's pretty normal for females to hang around in the strip clubs in LA. see the different kinds of girls, what they wear, how they dance, different ways they do their makeup, what they dance to, get a feel for which place seems best for you. get a lapdance and see how it works. talk to some dancers. this will be a hundred times more useful and informative than reading a bunch of forum posts.

i'm from LA and am actually going back there in a few weeks.. you can PM me about specific clubs if you want

According to your description it shouldn't be difficult for you to get hired. I don't think you should spray tan, but it's up to you. I think it's mostly the urban clubs that are Instagram centric. In any case you don't have to agree to any pictures. In the city of LA they aren't extremely picky about the stage at least in my experience. You can PM me the clubs you want to try.

To reiterate: thank you for everyone's responses.

A question I have that I've searched up on here before (but haven't found an answer to) is, should I trust clubs that require my social security? What are the repercussions of me giving it out - best case scenario, it's to do some sort of background check I imagine, worst case scenario, it's a scam? Sorry for my naivety, I just want to get some more opinions on this.

Is it a scam for a business to request your SS# before you work there?

I would be more concerned with clubs that DIDNT ask for proper identification.

Businesses for tax laws, tax forms, Immigration require it.
These are legit businesses that have to get permits to operate, liquor licenses and such. What they are not are some back alley speakeasy operating outside the law. There are more regulations & hoops they have to jump through to operate than most businesses.

There are good ones & bad ones, but it is offensive to assume they are all scams & can't be trusted with your SS#. No matter what company you work for or industry, that information can be hacked & your Identity stolen. Whole police departments have had all of the officers SS# and identities stolen.

Now, some are the most low tech places & I would probably trust them more with it than 90% of any other major company.

Only the managers of a club can determine if you have the look they want for that club. Then if they really need girls they may lower their standards if they have to many they may raise their standards.

Self confidence & walking in like you already go the job, helps.

Now, if you think that in the future if a back ground check was to be done that stripping puts into danger. Don't become a stripper. I have friends who teach high school who wanted a better position in the school system. They had each person investigate the other candidates to see if they could find anything on the web or social media morally compromising EVER on the internet.

If you are going to do it, then you have to own it & know it will always be brought up no matter what job you move onto.
Pics & vids do get taken & posted on the web. Facial recognition software and such.

The super long physical description, some gals make money & some don't. Now, hotter you are tends to help make money but attitude can run it off.

What matters is your ability to hustle. Now, I've seen mousy not too much to look at get hired and the manager not to sure about it. He thinks if she doesn't make money then she won't stick around long. Two weeks later wish he had ten more like her because she is just a sweetheart and all the customers just adore her & spend money like crazy.

I danced in LA when I was young , and your physical description sounds a lot like what I looked like ( except I'm a bit taller and narrow shoulders). And I already went into it knowing how to dance.
LA is a ' Hustler's Paradise', so if you know the game and how it works, you will be fine. Learning sales techniques is a must. I can now sell ice to Eskimos if I had to.
What I did when I first moved there, was made friends with seasoned girls who all took me under their wings.
Taught me the ropes. 30 years later, and most of them are still my friends.
I met them at the clubs I wanted to dance at. I entered the dance contests there. Would you be willing to do that, after practicing on your own?
Confidence is key, especially in LA. Those fuckers can smell weakness, and will use you to get what they want. So, in the end, having a dominant personality like you said you do, imo can be an asset.
Best of luck. Please keep us posted.

There's no need to be rude, I currently have another job I've held for years. I've heard concerning things about trafficking in some LA clubs (I don't necessarily believe it, but the possibility of a management being involved in that freaked me out, otherwise I likely wouldn't have cared), and I just want to protect myself. I would rather err with being too cautious rather than the opposite. Thank you for all your advice.

Thank you for your response. I'm a lot more confident in my hustling ability than in my dancing ability, so I'm thinking of starting at club that's more okay than great in its reputation so I can practice there with dancing before I try a more upscale club. Dancing is the only part I'm nervous about, so I figure it's better to bite the bullet at a place where I don't plan on being permanently so I can just get the experience of it out of the way since most of my fear is related to my nerves of being onstage. I have no trouble talking to strangers and asserting myself somewhat while seeming sweet in a public setting, so yeah, we'll see how I do. I plan on starting next week after I receive a few outfits, I'll definitely keep you all posted.

I think there might be trafficked girls IN clubs. I am 99.9% sure that I have worked with a few Russian/ Eastern European girls over the years that were probably trafficking victims. I did not realize it at the time but looking back there were some signs.

You will make it in somewhere. Most clubs around here are open to variety. You don't have to be a pro pole dancer, there are exceptions like in Jumbo's Clown Rown and the Deja Vu clubs from what I heard, but you should have no problem finding a newbie friendly club and you will learn along the way. Definitely visit a few clubs, observe your surroundings and buy some dances to get an idea.

As for your look, wear what you like and what works for you. Don't try to fit the mold of what you think a stereotype stripper looks like. Tan if you want but not because you think you should. Plenty of guys like pale and lighter skinned women. Everyone has a different opinion of beauty.

    Soooo.
I too am hehe a “natural beauty” I don’t wear that much makeup.
In my opinion , some clubs prefer the overly made up girl!!!

So what I’m saying is like the bare face can work for you
And for some places the glammed up doll is preferred . You’ll find a club fit for you
