Default south florida ftl/boca/west palm area

Hey darlins, extremely new/prospective dancer here! I've seen some posts about south florida but primarily miami/keys discussion... i'm a petite white girl so i doubt i'd do well there, also hoping to transition out of florida sooner rather than later but my current financial situation doesn't quite conform to those desires just yet. anyway, any places north of miami that you'd recommend checking into? also always down to make new friends! very happy to chat thanks again and sorry if this was asked before, i didn't see any recent posts like this so i thought i'd be okay

What color is your hair? What is your look like besides being white? There are some clubs in Miami you may do well if you have the right look to get hired there.

    Also how old are you?

my hair is usually silver (right now it nearly to the end of my back), at the moment it's more turquoise. for i suppose a visual, i'm told i look like elsa (from frozen) a lot, and when i wear a black wig i give off a dita sorta vibe (or so i've been told); i'm 23. i've visited tootsies (had a format that seemed not conducive to the dancers, a lot of people sat far away & didn't tip)...i have been to scarlett's a few times and i'm a tad too familiar to be quite honest (had an experience in a room where a dancer there started fingering me w/o asking in front of the man i was with and it was not a good experience to say the least, lol)..i know a lot of people in miami to be honest so i'd prefer to be a bit more discreet.. i have thought about the keys but i heard they aren't doing too well this year? sorry for the long response

I was thinking to suggest Deans Gold or Rachels but I do not think that would work with the turquoise hair. Wonderland is decent from what I hear. There's a club called Vixens that is owned by the same people as Scarlett's and I have been hearing pretty decent things about it.

If you are worried about discretion, maybe try going up to West Palm. I have always thought the clubs there were a little cleaner anyway. Slightly.

thanks so much for your input! would you say there's a large discrepancy in earning potential in west palm vs miami? i'm guessing it depends on the night/hustle/etc... how are wigs viewed in the industry? i could always change my hair (what colors would be more suitable?) but i also like the aspect of changing my appearance a bit for the job itself just to get into the role, so to speak.. i currently have minimum experience with pole dancing, going to take a class or two this week.. wondering if i should avoid auditioning for higher end places until i get a bit more accustomed to everything, maybe working somewhere lower key for a few weeks just to learn the ropes, etc... not certain what sort of place that would be, however. again, thanks so much for your input

I can't say which color to go with for the hair but as someone new- try for the most mainstream glam/barbie look you can because it will make it easier for you to appeal to the most number of people. I always made the most with really blonder hair but some guys like red heads and lots and lots of girls down here have long dark hair.

As far as the pole dancing and wig questions, use the search feature to see other threads about this because I know there are plenty.

With starting at a smaller or less upscale club... there's also a pretty new thread about this. Many girls do start at a smaller place. I did. I was terrible my first time I stage, I froze- lol. I learned the ropes really quick though. some girls start at higher ends clubs from the get go. To me, I was a little bit shy, and wasn't comfortable "selling". TBH I was not comfortable selling throughout most of my dancing career but didn't realize until after I retired. When I was starting my business I actually used to ut my stripper shoes on sometimes under my desk to give me the confidence to call leads!

Anyway, I was trying to give advice not talk about myself- I would say its really about your personality. You can audition at a bigger/high end club and see how it goes. You can walk out if you don't like or feel like it is too much and go somewhere smaller and come back. It's not a big deal.

If you can color your hair a natural color you will do MUCH better in Florida, and everywhere else.

i appreciate the info! would silver (if it works really well with my complexion) be considered natural-ish? i think i'm overthinking this (SOML), it's either that or light blonde/red; i think red might be more eye catching (and i ammm partially irish) ...i suppose there's always wigs *shrugs*

i appreciate you talking about yourself! that's how we learn, no? thanks so much for taking the time to give a ton of informative advice, i appreciate you. <3 i think i might try out diamond dolls and go from there (maybe to Rachel's, we'll see how I handle a smaller place first I guess) ; always down to chat!

Diamond Dolls is a pretty good, mid-tier club. When do you plan to audition?

i was going to tomorrow but i had to put my dog down today (unexpected) so i'm kind of in shock and a mess right now.. i have to pull it together first but before the end of the week. after a day or two i'm pretty good at shutting those feelings down @ work regardless of where i am (esp if i'm performing); any suggestions going in? should i wait to audition mid-tier if i'm new new?

Awww! Sorry about your dog. =(.

No, I think Diamond Dolls is pretty good because it's not super crazy. I would go in the afternoon when the day manager is still there and see if you can work mid or swing shift. I would bring a short dress or two piece outfit. I am not 100% if they have a dress code there but I feel like they might have some restrictions about outfits so call ahead.

    Good Luck!
