    Default NOLA clubs raided

I woke up this morning and on IG there’s girls saying certain clubs have been shut down? I’m surprised this isn’t on here...unless here’s a post already on it.

So far I’ve seen Hustler and Barely Legal have been untouched. Anybody have LEGIT information? This sucks because Mardi Gras is right around the corner.

My friends said Rick's Saloon, Temptations, Scores, Stiletto's and Dixie Divas were raided last night. Possibly Rick's Cabaret as well.

Edit: Looks like it was Scores, Ricks' Saloon, Temptations and Dixie Divas. All four clubs had their liquor licenses pulled.

I hate seeing this shit. I mean if it was legit it’d be okay. It’s usually just a power trip by the police or political figures. They don’t give a shit about those women.

Right. And even the women on the council saying they’re looking out for us. Such bullshit

The 2nd article pissed me off. There's no reason that the strippers should've been forced to undress in front of LE or to say their real names in front of customers. Wow, raids must be going on countrywide. Clubs in my area have been getting raided too. The club I work at got raided today. LE really needs to stop with this. Leave the legal age women who are working at strip clubs by choice alone and go after the sex traffickers who are exploiting underage minors.

LE is doing what they have always done, there are laws & rules.
Clubs who don't enforce them get into trouble.

After reading a few threads on this site by guys about touching & more without a single thought to rules & laws. I thought, this is just people waiting to get busted.

Yep - bring drugs and sex into the clubs, and they're going to get raided. That's the repercussions. And the clean girls who are trying to earn money legally get caught up in the bs.

From what I've heard, it used to be girls could make great money just by dancing. Period. But once a few dancers started offering extras, then it went to shit. That's all the customers come in for now, and management ignore it because they don't want to lose business.

When the Republicans are in charge they crack down on the sex industry. There are rules & laws in each city, clubs got greedy & let things slide to make the money.

Even if you are a clean dancer, you run the risk of getting caught up in a raid. But if everyone is a clean dancer, then the cops lose interest & move on.

The clubs losing their liquor license is a major thing & lots of money to get it back. They are in charge & it was their job to run a clean place, they know the risk by being a strip club that in general being watched much closer than a normal sport bar is a risk.

It's supposed to be a strip club NOT a brothel.

I live down here now & I'm honestly not surprised -the first big raid was like 2 or 3 years ago (the trick or treat raid -right at Halloween & what not). Then they were trying to do something else & a bunch of strippers & club workers went down to city hall to speak & protest & what not. They are more than likely gonna keep doing this -it's not what it used to be down here. I do, however, have to admit that Ricks & Barely have gotten hit up... usually they leave the big name clean clubs alone! wow

They aren't even closing over extras. Rick's Cabaret got shuttered, and it's a clean club. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the spots that were burned had extras going on, but I know for a fact they've been citing girls over petty shit like letting a customer put their dollar in the side of your panties, sitting in guys laps for lap dances, touching your own nips on stage. It's a viciously targeted attack on us because of the stigma associated with the job. They know most civilians won't care about us and won't clamor for city council to do anything about it.

I don't think any dancer, no matter how clean, would consider touching your own nipples an "extra", so no, in my opinion. No one is "asking for it" or whatever.

Here is an interesting read about those bust, it was 8 clubs & not 4.

    A quote from the article:
NOPD Superintendent Harrison said his agency’s mission was to protect women victimized by human trafficking — though the raids failed to identify any — but dancers say it was his department’s raid that victimized women. That’s certainly how the dancer at Rick’s Saloon during the raid described it to BARE. “To have grown men watch me dress and undress without my consent,” she wrote, “to photograph me half-naked on their personal cell phones, to laugh in our faces as we wept, and to corral us, like cattle, in areas with no cameras present is completely dehumanizing

Those fines are nothing, but the bouncers will have to do their jobs & everyone dance clean for a year or so. The customers who go in thinking something more is possible are in for a big surprise

I live in New Orleans and these raids are fucking bogus. The NOPD never cared about human trafficking before, and now they're shutting down all the clubs including the clean ones. This is connected to the big construction project the city is undergoing to make over Bourbon Street. They're trying to gentrify the area for all the rich doctors moving in around the hospital complex downtown, and that means getting rid of local businesses that don't fit the image. Nightclubs have also been "mysteriously" burning down in the area in the past few weeks too. I guarantee all the money changed hands behind closed doors, months before these raids happened. I just feel bad for all the dancers who were suddenly out of work without warning.

Dude, if you dont live down here you really dont know what is going on. Its not as simple as clubs getting popped for being "brothels."

The state and municipal for code here has not heen enforced in a decade. Following the laws, a topless lapdance is illegal. As is touching your own breast, taking a tip in your thong, "simulating a sexual act" (intentionally vague... Some clubs are now not allowing grinding or twerking), and if you are topless you need to be on an 18 inch pedestal placed 3 feet away from customers.

So yea, as a new orleanian who is way more familiar with the politics and the clubs, im super annoyed at dancers who dont know shit about this place assuming its a simple as leave your drugs at home and dont sell blowjobs.

Good news: i think all the clubs have their LL back, except the ones that permaclosed. And the dancer protests have gotten a positive spin in the media.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Yes! BL opened back up last night. Great to see the girls’ protesting,I wish I could’ve participated.
