I spent 3 weeks memorizing how to solve a Rubik's cube, and now I've gotten to the point where I can simultaneously solve a cube with each hand (2 cubes at once).

It's become a stupid party trick that only my family knows about. But, I like it.

I watch over 35,000 horror,sci-fi,and fantasy films since the age of 3. Plus, I have read most of the horror and sci-fi pulps from comic's golden age. In addition, I know all of the EC comics as well.

Had a female friend addicted to playing video games over ten years ago, she ended up being a top player. Which got her a job at Sony, traveling the world, making great money & marry/divorcing a major video game creator that Ya'll would just be flabbergasted if I dropped that name.

So video game addiction led to a job, money, marriage and traveling the world.

It is useless to one day you figure out how to make money at it. You just never know in this world.

Agree. Spend an hour or 9 browsing YouTube and you can see that this is true.

    35,000???

That's not an easy genre to watch that many of...sounds like you were a lot tougher than me at that age!

I have an *almost* eidetic memory. A TBI injury plus years of drinking dimmed it. BUTTTTT I use it now for stupid purposes like giving decent directions or translating silly Mexican jokes.

I can imitate almost anyone's voice. My reproduction of Bill Clinton is so spot on people's eyes widen and they get fascinated and ask me how I do it. George Bush and Donald Trump are easy. I once won a contest for imitating Harry Potter characters. My imitation of Dumbledore (both of them) clinched it. I also won a radio contest for my imitation of Darth Vader. I can also imitate any male singer.

Absolutely useless, of course, but does wonders for the first few dates. My advice to anyone who shares this talent? Don't use it all the time, then you're a pain in the ass. Just on punch lines every once in a while. If I ever met someone who could do the same, then it might be love :-) We would just sit around having conversations as other people.

Do you ever talk in a different voice when you meet new people and then go back to your normal voice after you've known them for a while? Imagine the mind-fuck!

No but I do slip into local patterns. Which must look really stupid for a tall white guy who travels all over the world. When I'm with Europeans, who, by the way, almost exclusively use English between themselves, I pitch my words to the level of English they have and find myself copying their inflection. I do sometimes imitate southerners (everyone thinks they can do this, but that fake ass Hollywood southern accent is totally dumb) to see if they'll notice. I spent a summer in Texas (Houston) doing imaging with an oil company, and by the end I think I got it.

When I'm in NYC I go full New Yawk on bad taxi drivers - people have been surprised to see my formerly genteel behavior slip.

I dated a Scottish lass for about a year. She stopped me one day and asked why I was talking like a Scotsman. Apparently I had slipped into it without even noticing. I still pull it out every now and then.

I do this too. Apparently it's a common habit.

i wont call it useless but i can play any instrument im handed by ear within a few days of getting use to it and also can pick up languages like memorizing song lyrics ( to be honest though, i have severe synesthesia, so being able to hear. " see" taste and in some cases "feel" sounds it gives me more than one or two senses to use as references/memories

The envy is strong! I wish I could do that. I can sort of play piano and guitar but I never have time to practice.

I'm kind of good at drawing, but I only like to draw animals, nature, or silly characters like Yoda. I don't like to draw real life people because they fuss and whine too much. This is because I draw what I see, regardless of imperfections or people's self-perceived flaws.

You should check out Adobe Animator, I think you would like it. Then collaborate with Bahuba to do the voices for the characters. Then post the vids on youtube & get famous then a cartoon company will hire both of you.

synesthesia cant be turned off? so sensory overload can be real - upside i dont have " mirror touch" forms of it which like.. seeing someone be touched - you feel the sensation in the same place, apparently alot of those with it find it sort of painful

Haha, I like that idea and Bahuba happens to be my fave blue on here. Okie dokie, let's do it! Lol. If someone can make a cartoon about a crime-fighting ass(Assy McGee) anything is possible these days.
