Default Looking more high maintenance when you truly don't care?

I keep hearing the more high maintenance you look the more you make, but I know for a fact this doesn't at all apply where I work. I think in the long run though, if I want to work more upscale clubs that have vip/champagne rooms...it might help me to look more "stripperish"..

Are there any tips to look more stereotypical stripper when you are lazy as fuck and really low maintenance in real life?

Note: I mean stuff like hair/nails misc stuff. I do take care of my body and am in pretty good shape so not asking for help on that.

Always have nice nails. You don’t have to get regular mani pedis, but always keep them in nice condition and painted. No chips or overgrown cuticles.
Keep your hair healthy. Wear it in a braid or another protective style when you are sleeping and not doing anything to keep it protected from snagging and pulling. Oil it to make it shiny and moisturized.
Simple things like thigh highs and lace lingerie looks ten times better than simple bikinis.
Keep eyebrows plucked and in a good shape.
    Always smell good. Always

Well I got the always smell good and eyebrows part down everything else though, lmao.... <3

I agree with everything you said there other than lace/thigh highs look nice. I hate that shit and it snags all the time! I think a lot of "real" dancer outfits cost more and look better than regular lingerie, but that's just me. If upscale clubs like lingerie then that it shall be.

I personally don’t find high maintenance styles to make me more money or be particularly popular with the customers
BUT if you wanna work high end clubs then yes you’re right, it’s a must.

French manicure, or something else classic and neat looking on nails. Toes too.
A good spray tan or self tanner
Straighten or curl your hair, or do a blow-out but have it look shiny healthy and “done”. Stereotypical stripper hair would be long too, so maybe extensions. No roots/greys/frizz/etc showing
Keep your teeth nice and white, always have good breath
If you’re low maintenance with makeup (like me) maybe consider microbladibg eyebrows an getting lash extensions , the better your skin the less you gotta faff around with makeup so I concentrate more on diet and skin care , but definitely do the eyes.
Don’t go in the club with anything expensive for jewelry , but maybe some shimmery pieces like a necklace an earrings.
An don’t go overboard on bath&body works Japanese blossom or cheap cotton candy spray..do like a mellow vanilla (older men love vanilla and food scents in general) or something a bit more understated. Really sparingly.

There’s an old thread titled something like “how to look like a Barbie stripper” or something w a lot of “classic stripper” looks posted you can search up

Jeez yeah I'm really low maintenance, reading through all that insanity. But nice to just have a list of all the things that are expected in one place. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with being low maintenance an girl next door! I do mascara, a bit of liner, and some lipgloss. I also rock casual plain little outfits like booty shorts and a crop top and I earn just as much as when I spent a fortune. My skin/hair/nails are a lot healthier too.

the more fit, thin and classic stripper your body is, the more you can get away with in the low maintenance department. Although I will say hair is important, long shiny hair makes a huge difference. But if you're already hot, you don't need to "gild the lily" with excessive makeup, acrylics, and bleach.

When I was stripping I found that one or two nice things that stand out make more of an impression that being too overdone. Like a simple outfit but your makeup was really well done and you had one piece of nice jewelry, or shoes that weren't the standard ones everyone had, or a very high-end top/bra. It's kind of like when you see a customer who is dressed fairly basic but you saw a nice watch or a designer jacket, you know they're loaded. The ones that overdress seem to be trying too hard and tend to be cheaper, in my experience. It's usually very subtle things that make you stand out. I agree with everyone else that keeping your tan, hair, nails, and personal hygiene in top shape is important as a base, but build on that subtly. One of my first big spenders was a guy who recognized my expensive perfume, even though I was wearing the most basic of clothes. Those with nice and expensive taste will recognize others with the same and can spot the people who are trying "too hard." I'm also a gal who is super basic, so putting in that extra effort was work and an expensive investment, but so worth it. Spend an extra hour or so getting your "base" right and you don't have to do much from there, people notice!

^ Seconding that! Too much rhinestone jewelry & runway model makeup can be as bad as not enough.

I like to wear a bra with some rhinestones on it, a watch & maybe a necklace (also rhinestone or fake diamonds... never bring real ones into the club...), and lipstick & black eyeliner. No dramatic 3-color eyeshadow looks, no ridiculous shoes, etc.
A few higher-end looking touches are enough, or maybe one big dramatic one (i.e., plain but matching lingerie & shoes and one big rhinestone choker - that's fine too!)

Psst - for nails - go to Target or CVS & get the Impress gel manicure sets. They come in all kinds of designs and look exactly like a fancy manicure with accent nails even. A $6 pack can be used twice and they last a solid week each time. Takes 5-10 minutes to do.

I never tried to look uncharacteristically high maintenance and I did well.

After age 35...keep going to the gym on the regular. Successful men equate a heavier mature woman as either "comfortable in life" or "lazy." If you strip or sugar you need a normal BMI to get the right attention.

& Don't overdo accessories. The only time it's cute to have too many accessories is when you are in middle school or working a waitressing job.

Interesting. I tend to prefer to err on the side of "tacky" flirty fragrance rather than risk a specific scent that a guy might associate with his mom or worse grandma if they wore similar!

Haha well whatever works! I say that cause a) I read older men and men in general love food scents and b) I've lost out on a good amount of money cause I used to cover myself in cheaper heavy fragrance and the guys didn't want their wives smelling a younger woman on them (it can also be overpowering and give ppl headaches and allergies)

My checklist for work is always a tan, waxed brows, eyelash extensions, clean (or almost clean lol.. dry shampoo) hair, and nails (acrylics and gel on toes).

As long as I have all that then it doesn't really matter what I wear. Sometimes I feel like wearing a crop top and thong and sometimes I want to wear a dress or nice lingerie. My makeup is usually pretty simple but the lash extensions make it so I don't need much. I also have hair extensions and get highlights but my checklist is more stuff I have to keep up weekly or bi weekly.

So not sure if that helps I guess I am pretty high maintenance haha but it helps my income. And at my club the girls who get rooms always look more high maintenance. I think looking that way tells the customer you 'should' be in a room. Too fancy for dances! lol

Work on the inside. Get an education. Guys like to speak to intelligent women in the clubs too. It's sad how many on here that are older dancers. And they can't even form a proper sentence.

Lazy but still want to look high maintenance...

Brows done. If they're not perfect, microblade them. No need to fill them in. Plus permanent cat eye liner if you're feeling daring.

Eye lashes done. Either the extensions or lift and tint.

Have good skin. You can just wear powder/cheek bronzer and lip gloss only, if you get all that other stuff I mentioned above. Some guys love that look too. Very little makeup, but look fresh.

Put on a rhinestone choker. If not, outfits that have nice sequins/rhinestones. Rhinestone shoes too. A stripper can never have too much rhinestone items. Just don't over do it all at once, and look like a Christmas tree. Lol.

Hair, as long as it's healthy and smells clean. I've heard of men complaining about girls with smelly scalps.

A good self tanner. Get a nice glow.

If you don't want to be a slave to your nails... short, filed, clear polish works too. I do my own toe nails every 2-3 weeks. That's not bad. I don't have a good nail salon around me, if not... I'd do gels every month, like I use to.

Also, avoid heavy perfumes that smell like patchouli(gross), roses, etc... it smells like grandma.

I'm both lazy AND cheap so...

I pull my hair into ponytail and pop this bad boy on. Takes 5 minutes, costs $14 and it looks really good. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I wear an outfit with a ton of sequin-y things on it. When you sparkle, you just look high maintenance.

I got a Vamp Stamp, which makes eyeliner easy. I do the stamp and put on liquid lipstick in a bright color. That, mascara and foundation is basically all I do.

I got a Groupon for laser hair removal and I'm getting a Brazilian.

I don't wear a ton of accessories, but I do wear a nice watch with Swarovski crystals on it.

I don’t know what *really* counts as a high maintenance look but when I put an enormous amount of focus and money into my hair and fragrance nothing else seems to matter. I know putting lots of time and money into hair might seem like the opposite of high maintenance with low effort, but when my hair is my focus it’s literally the only thing I worry about. The right hair can make a paper sack look like a designer dress, but that’s just my opinion. Hair just does it for me. Rhinestones do help.

For the fragrance I layer soft scents..... first starting in the bath i’ll Use an essential oil known to be soothing like lavender or vanilla. Then I use my choice of body oil, (usually coconut or jojoba oil mixed with something fragrant, depends on my mood but I love to use a scent that has a strong foundation so it lasts.) Then last on my way out the door I do a spray of perfume. I never apply fragrance too heavy because the goal is not to announce your arrival but more so to leave a pleasant memory after you’re gone. I always get compliments on how I smell so I feel like it makes a difference.

One other thing I do, not on purpose... but I primarily only wear black outfits. On occasion I wear red or white or the rare bright outfit but 9 times out of 10 I’m wearing black. I do this strictly out of preference but when I wear a neutral color and make my hair and accessories pop I get the most attention.

I am very high maintenance/looking, especially at work.. even tho half the time it takes me 10 mins to do my makeup. Anyhow... I would say you'll fall in to more EXTREME versions of money making with a high maintenance look, because you will attract a certain level of customer..as where average joe usually wants an average joe stripper too.. or so it seems, and the "average guy" is whats most plentiful at most clubs these days. So for instance, I literally CANNOT approach customer because I am very intimidating. I typically have to wait for customers to get more drunk before they will talk to me and not feel like I am "working" or that they just know they have no chance in hell with me. Most guys actually think I will even turn them down for dances! Anyhow..... you're just gonna have a lot more amazing nights, or shitty nights, being high maintenance. I think a lot of girls have figured this out and typically look more "average" on purpose..

I worked with a girl who came to work with her hair in a banana clip & she would wear tube socks. She was hot though so she made money.

I try to look nice at work....I do think girls who have a shabby "crackhead" look about them definitely attract the wrong attention.

A different perspective on the high end look- clean well styled hair and nice skin can make you look very fancy even if you're wearing clothes from Wal Mart.

I’m trying to figure this out too cause my usual day today look is very casual.

I always have long acrylics and always have extensions/strip lashes on. My make up is simple but neat. I always have small diamond earrings on and maybe a ring or another piece of jewelry. I use a nice wristlet for my money bag. I take care of my skin because I think this really can seperate trashy vs high end girls. I’ve been trying to wear more lingerie instead of my usual stripper bikinis.

But my struggle is my hair. I haaaate doing it but can’t pull off the “messy hair, don’t care look”. I’ve been trying to curl it with a wand every shift but I’m slow and I resent spending that time in the DR vs on the floor. I’m considering colouring it my natural colour(dark brown) and getting some quality extensions for volume. I love being blonde but I don’t know if I can be bothered to deal with the upkeep and extensions as well.
