Default Do you drink at work?

I'm curious to see how many girls do versus do not drink at work. I've always drank at work, and I personally find that after about 2 drinks my hustling is smoothest and not as calculated as when I first walk into the club. However if I have too many it starts affecting me negatively as I forget names, forget little hustle tricks etc. I'm considering trying a completely sober shift but I've never done that lol.

Thoughts on if drinking helps or hinders your shift?

I work at a juice club now so only thing I drink are mosters and red bulls lol. I used to drink though at clubs that served alcohol.

99% of the time I don’t drink .. I work too much to drink at work every shift and still be at my hustling prime. There’s one regular I have who really, really enjoys drinking with me so I make an exception for him because he pays me to just sit and drink with him.

Theres some clubs where I feel like being sober is a disadvantage because I’m not great at pretending to be drunk but at my home club most of the girls are pretty sober and the hustle is too fast to sit with customers and drink.

Never. All the bartenders know to serve me only water , I hate feeling sloppy or buzzed. I start losing track of songs, my purse, when I'm supposed to be on stage..plus alcohol dries our your skin, dehydrates you, and I don't like the feeling the morning after

For like, 3 years, I didn't drink at work almost EVER, except for with a regular who paid me to hang out at the bar with him (and that was the only customer I would see that day, so I didn't need to hustle). I was in a club that was 97% dances - nobody sold the CR. You had to move fast & hustle all day, which drinking doesn't work with. It also wasn't the best club to lose any of your wits in, girls occasionally got drugged & we had a bit of a rougher crowd.

Now I work in a club where I sell a lot of rooms, the hustle is a little slower and the crowd is a bit classier, so I take customers up on a drink more often. I usually only drink about 1/3 of it though, so I'm rarely ever buzzed.

About once a month, we will have a horrible annoying crowd and I will go have a drink just to tolerate them.

I don't see any problem with drinking at work IF you keep your shit straight. Learn your limits. Most of our resident drunks are not well-received by the customers with money unless they're a guy who wants extras and goes "Aha! She's so drunk she'll let me do stuff"

Depends. But one thing I do know is these predators be outchea looking for drunk people to take advantage of - not trying to be on that end.

Then in the event something pops off, guess who's looking less credible?

Plus Anything more than 1 drink/small shot/etc is like someone above mentioned is aging you prematurely.

^ Oh yeah, on that note, I make sure to have a bottle of water every night too. Too much liquor is bad for your liver, your bladder, your skin... balance it with plain water.

ya i feel the same way OP. i used to drink a ton but i've been trying to cut down. 3 drinks usually will make me better at my job but i have a hard time cutting myself off sometimes depending on the situation (money is flowing and guys are pushing drinks). sometimes it's just way easier and more fun to drink than go through all the effort it takes to fake drink. and i've never been in trouble because i usually hold my alcohol well and seem fine but i definitely lose money cuz i get bad with time management and forget important details and stuff like that. i also want to cut down for health and vanity reasons.

i've found it's pretty easy to avoid at certain clubs, and others not so much. some places really encourage or even push it on you to drink while others don't care if you do or not.

I'm from a drinking city so YES! lol I can't hustle as well without a buzz and feel uncomfortable sober. Most girls and customers drink at my club too, it's kind of a giant party. I hate being hungover though and wish I could work sober sometimes, but then I just take it easy.

I used to be a serious drinker. Then I stopped about 4 or 5 years ago. And now I never drink at work or ever for that matter. It's best not to get into the bad habit of working and drinking. Because you can get so accustomed to working while drinking. Then it gets hard to work and not drink.

This is 100% me. I was a severe drinker when I worked from 18 to 20. It always turned into this cycle of, I'm drinking to deal with the emotional labor of the job, but I'm worse at my job because of my drinking. Now I'm sober and have been for 3 years.

I used to at most clubs but there were a few where I did not because I did early shifts or the vibe was better not drinking. I found I drank more in VIP, so at clubs that were divey I never did.

I feel that I am most productive after I have had a few drinks. I am really uptight and shy and drinking allows me to calm down and have more smooth/ less awkward conversations. I don't take shots but I WILL order a fruity drink. I know to stop once I start finding it hard to take my bottoms off or put them on while standing up.

I've worked at nude clubs for a long time. In most of those, drinking was not permitted. At a few, we were permitted liquor in the back as long as we were discrete and not sloppy drunk. There were a couple of clubs I worked at where we even had a room designated for smoking both cigarettes and marijuana. We'd still get drunk customers in the clubs and would have to deal with them, but we were not allowed to procure alcohol for them. There was less alcohol, so I simply didn't drink. I prefer to do my job sober. However, it's difficult to resist when there is alcohol everywhere, so I drink more than I'd like in the alcohol clubs and this habit carries over into my personal life too. I noticed that when I worked at a particular place I hated, I felt like I needed to drink to tolerate the working conditions.

I do fine working sober. But if a customer offers me a drink, I take him up on it bc the bartender would be pissed if I didn't. I order a real drink, not the mocktail that we sell under a code name. Once a customer actually stuck his finger into my drink and licked it (his finger) to make sure the drink had booze in it (ew).

I generally don't drink more than 1-3 drinks over the course of my shift, because I nurse them. But with at my club, where there's a slow, hangout, dayshift hustle, guys like it when you're down to drink and shoot the shit with them.

very ewww it's always the guys who are trying to push you to drink who do that shit too which is what makes it so creepy. i had a bartender once pour me mostly water with a little bit of tequila when i asked for "fake shots" bc of this. guys try to smell it.

like i get if a girl orders a pricey drink on a guys tab without asking he wants to make sure he isn't being ripped off.. but like. encouraging me to drink and then checking to make sure it's strong... is super rapey.

I don't drink. Not for any high minded moral reason, but because I'm incredibly vain and conceited. Alcohol has calories and I get intoxicated off my own reflection, especially my biceps.

I will sometimes have a glass of wine when I've getting ready, as like... a princess treat for myself. I don't really drink on the floor because I find I sit with customers for too long when I have a cocktail to distract me. If a customer I've known for a while buys out my night in VIP, then I'll drink there but not to excess.

I don't dance anymore, but I ALWAYS drank at work. The only time I didn't was early in my stripping career when I worked at a club that did not serve alcohol. I would recommend working sober or limiting your drinks, because it becomes very habit-forming after a while. After a couple of years, it got to the point where I needed a couple of drinks in me just to have the motivation to approach customers.

Drinking on the job is a bandaid that doesn't solve the actual problem. If you feel that you HAVE to have a drink to get started, you have a problem with alcohol. You shouldn't have to have alcohol in you to be able to cope with your job. Think about it ...if someone in any other industry feels like they need to drink to get into the mood for work, they'd be classified as an alcoholic and they'd likely get fired. If you're the type of person who rarely drinks on the job and you can limit yourself to 1-2 drinks, more power to you but that's not me. If I get into the habit of drinking, I'll be doing it every shift and that's not only horrible for your liver, but it will age you prematurely and pack on the pounds. I observe more when I'm sober and I'm better at time management, and waking up feeling good in the morning is an incredible feeling.

This is very true. I went from 125 lbs. to 150 lbs. when I danced due to drinking too much. I worked at a club where we got paid $2 per drink or shot and more for champagne. We could drink non-alcoholic drinks, but most girls over 21 drank on the job. Plus I'm naturally a shy person and I found it easier to hustle and talk to customers when I had a slight buzz going. All those empty calories add up, plus I was making bad food choices when I was buzzed/drunk such as eating unhealthy bar food or hitting Denny's or IHOP after work. lol
