I drink but it's because I rely on "talk hustle" to push guys into VIP.
I do have to admit drinking is horrible for your health & most people aren't gifted with the genetics to drink all night & handle it. I honestly think Russian girls do so well as dancers because of being able to hold liquor like champs.

Side note- a lot of bars WANT you to be pushing liquor. They make money that way. So in some cases drinking is part of the job.

(You don't have to consume every drink. For a long time I was the champ of dumping half-finished drinks in the bathroom sink.)

I started dancing in nude clubs which are BYOB in my area, most customers would bring in beer which isn't my thing (especially cheap beer ugh) so I never drank at work. Eventually I switched to an upscale topless club where I spent most of my dancing career and would have 1-3 drinks on slower weeknight shifts as it was part of the culture at that club. Eventually I went through a rough patch of burnout for about a year where I felt like I needed to get buzzed every night to deal with the stress. I switched clubs for a while after that to a smaller dive outside my city that also didn't allow smoking (another bad habit for me when I was stressed out). Once I got my health under control I was able to go back to the upscale club and work sober again for another couple years until I retired.

Me and my closest friends at work always drink, a few tequila shots or wine and we are in the VIP room all night because it makes us more flirty with the men who come through, and they find us more fun that way. I do go sober some nights though and can do well.

I love drinking at work because it's fun, it gets me in the right frame of mind (like sometimes it feels weird to me being stone cold sober around guys who are enjoying happy hour), and let's be real... it's great hanging out with a cool regular who wants to treat you to high quality liquor.

That said, I've noticed no difference in the money I make on the nights I drink vs. the nights I don't. Different hustle I guess.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get out of your own head when it comes to staying sober at the club? I tend to get out of hand when I drink it the club because I'm focusing too much on my money or at least where the next Cash Cow will happen to be and I don't pay attention to the amount I have as much as I should. And if I'm honest with myself I consider myself a little boring when I'm sober. I want to start getting healthier again and exercising a lot like I usually enjoy. But the problem is the alcohol I consumed at work getting in the way of my workouts the next day. I guess all I have to say is I feel like I'm more Awkward without a drink or two and then it becomes 10 or 11.

Mainly iced water. A few times, cola, orange juice and a shot of Patron with salt on the rim(of course paid by my regular customer).

Usually water with lemon or the occasional diet coke. I rarely drank alcohol. If I did, the bartenders would literally freak and declare it a national holiday.

I think it's a skillset that you need to commit to developing. I had a very awkward first year or two of dancing because I'm naturally extremely shy, introverted, and had no idea how to talk to men. I was committed to never drinking at work, since it was Work to me. It was really important to me that i should do my job without any sort of chemical boost. I worked in a nude club starting at 18 and never had a drink in my 6-10 years of on/off dancing. It was an integrity and work-ethic thing for me, personally.

After a year or so of learning how to converse, i became a mega hustler, lol. In retrospect, i do think i could have made even more money if i had pretended to drink (either by ordering fake drinks or by using tricks as mentioned above like pretending to sip and then dumping the drinks). Guys really want you to drink with them... it's a rapport thing. And they want to buy drinks for you. I always hated the idea that customers might spend money on a drink that they could spend on a private dance, but i think i probably could've made a bit more if i had let them.

When I was a dancer hell yes I drank haha & that's when I made waaay better money bc my hustle was on par. It's not for everyone & I rarely drink anymore now since I work online but when I did it really helped take the edge off.

It's easier for me to pull off being a bimbo when I drink & get away with whatever I want haha

I didnt drink last night and felt alot better waking up. But what I noticed during my shift is a major change in energy while trying to hustle. Does anyone have some healthy tips to not be so tired if I hustle sober?

If you're used to drinking during a shift, then you can expect that it will take some time for your body to adjust to not having alcohol in it / detoxing afterwards, and for your brain and hustle to adjust as well. I would usually have a cup of coffee before my shift, but caffeine takes a long time to leave the system, so i often would struggle to sleep when i got home. I think it helps to work shorter shifts and to show up when the club is already in full swing... that way, you have less time to feel bored - you get in, hit the floor, start working, and then your shift is over before you know it. I'd often show up at 10p or so and work until 2-2:30a.

If i were dancing today, I'd honestly probably go the coffee route, despite the sleep issues. I only worked once or twice a week, so it wasn't a big deal for me to sleep poorly after a shift.

Red Bull. Put me in a GREAT mood

Bring snacks and water too. Don’t sit down. Shoot the shit with a bouncer or something if there’s no customers to hustle.

Yeah, and i think the absolute killer here is stuff like day shift, long shifts, or showing up at the beginning of night shift at a one-shift club (for girls who are trying to stop drinking). As an example of a trigger, when i started dancing, i worked in a local dive that opened at 6:00p, and i would literally work from 6p-2:30a. There is no way i could handle that long of a shift now. It was crazy. And business was usually pretty slow from 6-9, especially as we got into the great recession. I'd often pick up a good number of dances before most girls even showed up to work, but i couldn't handle doing that today, lol. And i was always dead sober. Hahaha, i was such a stubborn little fucker.

Anyway, yeah, if you're trying to stop drinking, get on a shorter shift, show up when the club is already decently packed, and have some caffeine before work if you need a boost.

^ Yes absolutely the shorter shifts. I used to stubbornly work 8-2a and yeah, sometimes I'd be up $1-200 by 10p when most girls (and customers) rolled in, but often I was still sitting in the red for my house/tipout and in a pissy mood AND tired because I kept getting put on stage since there were only 4 or 5 girls.
Same went for when I was on days and would come in at 12 to get free house but then we didn't get properly busy until 3. Wasn't worth it at all.

I made just as much $$$ most of the time coming in at 10p (or 3p) and really hitting it hard for 4 hours. Work smarter, not harder.
