I don't think it's worth it to buy expensive lingerie for the club because you have to take it off/put it back on multiple times throughout the night and it would get worn out quickly. Most men can't tell the difference between cheap lingerie and expensive lingerie anyways. Save the La Perla/Agent Provocateur for your personal life.

yes expensive lingerie makes a difference because it makes you look like a fucking goddess lol. check out vintage clothing stores or "vintage inspired" lingerie shops. obviously you want to be discerning about buying used lingerie but I don't have a problem with a nice corset or bodysuit (just wear a g-string under it). I hand wash the garments with unscented castile soap thoroughly and they're good as new. vintage lingerie is much higher quality and the people who made it had an actual understanding of women's curves and you can experiment with garters, stockings, silk robes, and non-stripper heels and vintage shops have the coolest accessories.

I really like this idea but vintage stuff is even more expensive and harder to find the right size in esp if you aren’t average sized. I live right by 2 vintage stores and their shit is CRAZY expensive. Like I was about to buy a super basic old band t-shirt and realized it was $40 so I put it back. Like I’m talking an ill-fitting, gender neutral type shirt. I can’t even imagine what lingerie would cost at a place like that. Fucking hipsters lol

    ^^

Vintage stores blow my mind sometimes. Like I get the stuff that's actually really cool and unique but when they have piles upon piles of old levis that didn't look good on anybody in 1987 so why on earth are hipsters paying big bucks for them now

Personally I just find the vast majority of lingerie in general too fussy and too fragile for the club. It might be different if I didn't dance nude so only the top had to come off, or if nobody ever bought single dances (we're required to be naked by the end of a dance, regardless of how short) but if it's more than two steps to remove/put on it's just too much for me. I'm definitely at the point in my stripper career where I care more about how my outfit feels than how it looks. Like I'm fine rocking basically anything, but is it comfy for a full shift?

From my hard earned experience nice lingerie can't survive the grime and hazards of the club. & Honestly in club lighting no one can tell the difference between an affordable lingerie piece and something truly fancy.

You can store items in your locker and put them on by request for certain VIP customers. That I could see being a good upsell/idea.

People want to pay more for the higher quality and memorabilia factor. I can't knock anyone for that.

Regarding the lingerie, it kind of seems like you already had your mind made up before you even asked, but I'm telling you if you invest in one quality outfit once you get that VIP regular that spends thousands you'll be happy you did. Men aren't idiots and the fact that dancers undermine them so often is what makes the VIP girls that much better. while they may not be able to tell the difference between walmart panties or victorias secret when they ask where you got your outfit and you say "it's a custom tailored corset" they know right away that you're not a $20 to grind on your cock for 3 minutes stripper, you're a girl who drinks champagne with millionaires for a living. you make the choice.

Club wear should be built to last, or cheap-ish IMO (think actual stripperwear or VS). It will 100% matter the fifteenth time you try to unhook your Agent Provocateur bra and the silk lace woven by blind Tibetan nuns falls apart in a customer's lap.

I've known plenty of VIP girls who rocked box lingerie or other super basic outfits. My one friend was exactly the type of hustler you're describing, had all kinds of high-roller regulars and would often spend her entire shift in the VIP room. Homegirl had like 3 outfits 2 of which were relics from the 90s that she had taken good care of. Another friend wore the same dress every single shift and was in VIP all night anyway. Having some high-end lingerie for your high-roller regulars is a nice idea but lets not get elitist here!

I might be derailing the thread but in some cases hot lingerie can cover up parts of the body that dancers want to hide....

Of course if you're a "hardbody" type you can wear a slingshot made of a cut up tee shirt and guys will love it.

Guys love different things, which is why being a dancer is lucrative.

I have nice lingerie that I paid out the ass for. Do you intend how hard it is to find a 32DDD that is sexy and fits well? No way in hell is Pervert McGreyballs going to drool over my personal stash. (And I mean this literally not figuratively)

Let's do a "Walmart challenge!" Come up with an ensemble that looks high end but was purchased entirely at Walmart or something similar. I'll start when I go shopping for dog food later.

This onesie I got from Walmart doesn't look high-end in the slightest, but I wore it for the first time yesterday and really liked it! It's comfortable, easy to get off and on and does surprisingly good things for my smallish boobs. Plus it doesn't slide down like most strapless things.

I had a gift certificate so it was only $7.99.

sorry that was rude of me I'm trying to convey the idea that ANYONE can be a VIP girl you just have to have the attitude. putting on high end lingerie puts me in a money making mood but that might not be the case for everyone. I think it's important to try new things though and I'm always an advocate for girls treating themselves well!

I've found Rene Rofe/Pink Lipstick is an awesome brand for inexpensive but reasonable quality dancerwear. I have a few of their $10 boxed dresses and I've seen several girls rock the bodysuits and they seem to be flattering on many body types (which is a feat for boxed lingerie).

As far as the boxed brands, most of them are hit and miss (Leg Avenue, Dreamgirl, Espiral, etc) but I have NEVER seen a Hustler outfit that looked good on a real human. i'm fairly confident they use totally different outfits in the shoots with the models.

It came from the Walmart website--I was looking for cheap lingerie for the club and stumbled upon this world of stripperwear when I searched for "sexy onesie." I have never seen outfits like that in the store.

I buy cheap Lingerie that looks expensive or wear stripper dresses. I wouldn’t spend $300 on a la Perl’s bra and wear it to dance unless a customer bought it for me. It’s pointless. Whatever YOU feel sexy in and whatever flatters your body will make you money. The highest earning dancers in my club wear bikini tops and skirts.

I'm really curious about the opposite. Girls have been getting really cheap flimsy lingerie that doesn't cover what it's supposed to, I want to still be relevant but I don't want to show that much much for $1. I've never been "you can see my pussy for a $1" in the pasties & thong clubs. I'm just lost & frustrated.

NOPE! I buy my lingerie at the cheaper stores like primark or forever 21 or even target! Its all about how flattering it looks on you, and how much it boosts your self esteem. TBH i would save the expensive lingerie for the significant other. i wouldn't want to ruin an expensive outfit at work. Just find something that looks expensive but isnt.

I think it depends on the club, I work in a gentleman's type club that really cares about its image and I used to be so into the tacky outfits but I found that since switching to more lingerie and bedroom type clothes I've been approached and complimented more often, by everyone - customers, staff and other girls. I also think that if you are wearing nice brands or nicer pieces that a richer customer may notice and appreciate that. If your club is topless only you can always layer for the more exposed bottoms.

However I don't like spending a ton of money because of the wear and tear nature of our work. Even VS is splurge for me haha! So I have a few nice pieces, but often I'll try to look for stuff made of luxurious materials like silk/satin, lace that doesn't look cheap, bling details, velvet... gives off the feeling of luxury without spending on brands, also you could try to find brand knockoffs or duplicates or DIY details on more basic pieces.

I love accessorizing a lot too, I wear a silk robe (since our club requires our bums covered), bracelet, necklace or choker, headband, etc. I just get most of my jewelry at Claire's or Forever21 or places that are cheap but I am eye catching even in the low lights of the club. It doesn't cost much to look eye catching but it's worth it =)

It all depends on what type of club you’re at. I don’t go on stage anymore and I only sell VIP’s so for me it’s easier and better to wear expensive lingerie. If I look expensive they will assume I’m worth the high price. They also notice your jewelry and what type of watch you’re wearing. In their mind they start thinking, hmmmm, what type of amazing things does she do to be able to afford all of this?

If you’re a stage girl or single song girl I’d say the sluttier the better.

I have seen a LOT of this, lol! Like even the fucking 18/19 year olds try and wear higher underwear to cover unflattering things on their lower belly which is just silly because it is super obvious to me that they aren't in the greatest shape. Idk on my fat days I just wear onesies. Then I go back to my low cut 2 pieces when I have absolutely nothing to hide (usually once I stop effin binge eating and work out between 1-3 days hah!!!).
