    Default Questions about Toronto

Not exactly sure if this thread should be here or in the Other Work section, might also post in the other section.

I am from Montreal and have been in the industry for almost six years. I am graduating with a civil law degree in two months and recently got my admission to do a one-year common law to get my Juris Doctor and both degrees in only four years. I am thinking of working in Toronto or New York in the future so studying for my JD in Toronto would be a better idea than staying in Montreal... But it also means I will spend nearly $36 to $40k more than if choose to stay in Montreal which worries me quite a bit as I'm paying for everything myself and the high cost of living scares me... I am fairly certain I will be going to Toronto next year, but I want to know more about how the industry is first.

Another thing is, I am asian, sometimes people think I am mixed and it's been a huge advantage in Montreal because they're more conservative and rare. However, I heard in Toronto, there's sooo many asians everywhere so I'm a bit worried about the competition and not standing out. I was wondering how it is in clubs and massage parlors or escorting, is there a lot of asians as well ? I am 5'4, 105 lbs and have big fake 32DD so I was pretty exotic, but I don't know if this will still be the case in Toronto.

I know a lot of girls who travel all the time to work in Toronto, though not personally, because the rates are higher over there, but they're all Caucasian... I thought of trying out a couple of week-ends over there, but I'm so busy with school and I make good money here so I never did. Usually Asians make good money here, I know one who worked a little while in Toronto, but came back she said it wasn't that good but she mentioned it's because there's more extras, but not ethnicity. I messaged her and am waiting for her to reply.

I am also worried about having to try out a few places before finding one that is right for me and losing my clients and having to start all over again although some great clients do business in Toronto and will come visit me, but I know it won't be every week, so my income will likely decrease

Thank you so much in advance !

    Hi!

PM me and I'll answer your questions more specifically.

You'll be fine, I work in MTL and my bestie is a Korean dancer in Toronto. Being Asian is still somewhat rare in the clubs. Extras are more rampant but you can still make money as a clean dancer. I can give you suggestions on where to work based on your hustle style just PM me.

You can PM me as well. Ive never worked in Montreal so I can't do a comparison but I do work in Toronto currently.

Overall though, it seems to be that the earning potential at good Toronto clubs are higher than Montreal. I think even with the added living expenses, you would still overall make more at the end of the month. I think the average good hustler at my club can easily for 1000/night minimum if they put a good 7-8 hours in. At the very least, you can expect 100/hr and this can be made pretty much any time of day and any day of the week. The club I work at has two sections, one is mostly 20 dollar dances and the other is rooms for 200 half hour or 400 per hour. I usually stay in the 20 dollar dance area because I tend to leave early and the champagne room area doesn't pick up until later. My friends who work in the champagne room part of the club exclusively are regularly having 2000 plus dollar nights.

At my club there's not that many asian dancers but usually at least one other one on a shift. I don't know if they can rely exclusively on being exotic to make money but there's enough customers to go around that you don't have to rely on that. But with your stats and your experience, Im sure that you will do well regardless. In clubs just outside of Toronto, I think asian dancers are still pretty unique and tend to do well.

^^All of this is true. Also, in Toronto you need to get a license from the city. It's about 500$. You'll make it back in one night. The data is supposed to be kept private by the city and not shared with any other agencies. To get this license you need a police clearance but you don't need to tell them what it's for.

Thank you so much. You are all so helpful ! I feel much more reassured now. I was really worried about spending $28k in tuition (instead of $4k here in Montreal) and having to spend over $1000 just on apartment alone, not even a fancy one downtown on top of having to study harder because English is not my main language (I studied in French my entire life). I was in a relationship and my ex really wanted me to quit, he used to live in Toronto, but he knows nothing at all about the industry. He was saying oh the competition must be more fierce in Toronto there's only asians, he said on Tinder there were only Asian and Indian women so I was a bit worried. I said well usually asian women are conservative so there not many of them in Toronto and he said well they're not conservative in Toronto they're just like anyone but if stripping and sex work doesn't work anymore there are more options. I was really worried and thought hmmm ok I'll actually ask people on SW who know what they're talking about. I'm much less worried now, everyone kept telling me there's more potential to make money in TO although living expenses are much higher. I should have thought that my ex just wanted to scare me to convince me to leave the sex industry, although we're still friends, he still has feelings for me and doesn't like what I do lol. I broke up with him because although he said he was supporting my goals he would give me advice to sabotage me so not really surprised he tried to scare me off going to Toronto for my studies and working there because he wants to keep me closer.

1000$/mo to live in a 1 bedroom apartment with mold and the cockroaches, or 800$/mo for a whole floor of a house in mississauga and no mold and cockroaches. The only benefit to living right in toronto close to the clubs is.. youll feel like living at the clubs because your quality of life at home is straight trash. In mississauga or any of the surrounding suburbs youll save on food hydro rent everything.. and its just a 30-45 min drive to work

As for the clubs its what you make of it. I dont know what club in mtl you worked at but i heard many of them are 10$ dance clubs. All of the clubs here are 20$ dance clubs. Ive worked at 3 clubs in toronto and on any given shift there would be 3-5 asian girls max. But i dont think they had an advantage over anyone because of their race. Again its what you make of it Hustlers make money period

Thank you polequeenkat. I don't really make money because of my race, because my regulars are not the type with "yellow fetish" oh god how much I hate that expression, but do it provides me with an advantage ? Yes, sometimes I do get some clients who go after me because they love Asians, but it's more the overall package than just my origins. I was initially worried about too many Asians because in a competitive market we need all the advantages we could have and there is some competition amongst Asians. I will also think of checking out Mississauga, a friend who does body rub told me she only knew of some spas in Mississauga and nothing about downtown Toronto... So if I can find something cheaper and the commute is not too far from the University I might consider.

I received so much information and tips from ladies on here about clubs in Toronto. I feel reassured and less stressed out about money for accepting my offer to attend Osgoode the next year. Thank you so much everyone !! If you have more information please do not hesitate.

Girl come to Toronto! There AREN'T a lot of Asians. Source: I'm Asian and hardly ever have other Asian "competition." At all the clubs I've worked at/visited, there's always been like 1 or 2 other Asian girls or none at all. At my old club, I was the only one. Where I'm working now, there's only 1 other Asian girl and she just started.

There's not a lot of Asians here so you'll fill the niche of men who love Asian women.

Wow that's very reassuring ! Thank you so much everyone ! Your help has been sooo helpful. Yeah I'm surprised by the answers, even my asian friends told me when they travelled to TO there wasn't many. I was worried for nothing lol, but always a good idea to be careful when changing markets

Definitely coming to Toronto in Fall and also accepted a great job offer in my field so wouldn't have to worry so much about paying for tuition and housing. Will keep doing sex work for a while in TO, but might be my last year in the industry. So grateful everything is going so well !
