    Default Craigslist

Has anyone else noticed the change to Craigslist today? I went to the personals to advertise my pso chat line and seen this:

"US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.
To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!"

CL has kind of become a dinosaur of the Internet so I think they felt defensive in light of the congressional ruling.

Its to combat sex trafficking. I get why they want to do it, but i fail to see the impact this will have. With CL and Backpage, everything is centralized and out in the open. If there's trafficking going on, it's better for LE to know where to find it (and where to sting the traffickers) rather than have it just retreat to the Dark Web, where any pervert with a Tor browser is already able to find their 13 year old fix. Instead, we have a bunch of 80 year old men who can't figure out twitter passing laws that govern the internet.

Better yet, just legalize and regulate prostitution. That makes the US less attractive to traffickers in the first place (with the added effect of increased safety for providers and customers, both). That'll never happen, though. Not with the aforementioned 80 year old men running things.

I was wondering why Craigslist is all fucked up now. Just another way we are being controlled. I think it's bullshit! I think it's more about trying to control our first amendment rights. And less about sex trafficking. So many things are so fucked up since 2001.

In Iceland it’s legal to sex and illegal to buy it. They go after the Johns and pimps. I agree that the government should decriminalize it.
