Default HOW the FUCK do San Diego Dancers do it? Just got quoted 500-600 for annual license

sweet jebus! $600 for an annual fee (the phone guy said he thought it was 400 or 500 to renew the next year)
in a town not known for big money in the clubs.

    how do you do it?!?!?

I even called Jolar Cinema thinking a peep show wouldn't have a license, but yes, same thing.

Suggestions for closest spots without a license?

I know Yuma is 3 hours away. I guess LA. Anything in between San Diego and LA without a license?

(my background is clean-- but don't want to buy a licemse as I'm just in the area for a couple weeks.)

Main Attraction Oceanside. I'm fairly certain you don't need a permit there.

SD sucks. I'm changing jobs soon.

I'm sorry. that's rough. I lived in Oxnard for awhile and would just drive to las vegas. even with the license and sheriff's card it was way better thn anything in central or south CA

Our license in Seattle first time is $300. Atlanta is $400ish PER CLUB. Birmingham is $500. Divide that by 12 months and it’s an expense that you just have to pay because you can’t work without it.

Your only option is to call around and see if any clubs don't require a license, or you will need to travel outside of San Diego for work. See if there are any bikini bars that don't require a license. At least it's tax deductible if you have to pay the $600. In some cities that's just the cost of doing business. If you don't pay that, you won't be able to make any money at all.

i used to know a few girls from SD who would drive up to dance in orange county on a pretty regular basis. there are some clubs with no license there. san diego sucks for dancing, from what i've gathered. but if that's where you live then the license is probably worth it. $400-600 for the entire year isn't that bad when you think about it- i mean, you can make that in a few shifts, maybe even one if you get lucky.

it's also really common for socal girls to drive out to vegas a few times a month. the license there costs around the same but you can make way more money.

When I lived there (2011 so I'm sorry if I'm not current) I worked at Les girls and the body shop didn't need license either.
I'm not sure if that's still the case

It IS tax deductible as someone mentioned. So there is that...

The upside is that the license and the high initial cost of doing business may keep a lot of traveling dancers out as to thin out the competition a bit. However, from what I heard the money potential isn't that good. Most of the guys I've ever met from Southern CA, San Diego included, are cheap no matter how affluent they are, so not sure if it's worth it in the end.
