Hey guys. So I am concerned. I got a breast lift 1 1/2 years ago. I got the lift first. What has happened as you can see by the photos, the extra pigment from my areolas is still there in a big line where the vertical scar would be.
I consulted with a few doctors. None of them in the consult mentioned this would be a problem. The first I found out, I was in PreOp! While the doctor was drawing on me with the marker. It was then revealed that because my areolas were so large, there would be pigment from them left over. He said not to worry, once Healed, he would remove the extra pigmented skin with local anesthesia. No problem so far. So last summer I get my implants. I ask about removing the pigmented skin again. He said, after my implants are in and I am healed, he will remove it. First post op, he started changing his story. He said he cant remove the skin completely because the areolas were "abnormally large." Never heard this before, nor did he say this would be a possibility. I was upset, but thought the surgery made me look so much better I could live with it. Now, when I go in for the consult AGAIN, the story once again changed. This was last week. He said now he can only take off a little on one side only!!! So the story changed several times and I am extremely upset and wish I hadn't got the surgery. My boobs looked bad before, but I feel I only traded the problem for another. I didn't expect perfection but I feel like he is not being honest, and I like I said, I wasn't even told about this issue until the day of surgery for the lift! And even then he said without a problem it would be all removed. He is also very fast and I can hardly get a word out. I am not lying or exaggerating when I say he only sees me for less than 3 minutes. I am so upset, I don't see how I was such a difficult case. I have seen before pictures with much worse breasts and larger nipples than mine.
I am going to get a second opinion from another doctor, but if anyone can offer any input, it would help me feel better. Is this normal? Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!
