    Default Too tall??

I want to start dancing but wondered if it would be harder to get hired at a club/ get customers because of my height? I'm 5'11 without heels and know a lot of men like shorter women or at least women who will not be like 6'5 ish with heels on 😅. Has anyone else ran into or heard of a problem with this? Either way I would still like to give it a shot but was just curious so I could prepare myself if necessary!

I've been dancing for 7 years, I'm 5'11 and I've never had an issue with getting hired based on my height. The only problem I have with my height is men being intimidated by it. It's annoying but it doesn't happen often. Over time, you'll learn how to make it work to your advantage. Where are you from?

I'm not nearly as tall as you (5'7" and 6'3" in heels) but my biggest issue isn't getting hired or towering over the men (you're sitting next to them most of the time anyway). It's brushing my head against low-ceilinged stages.

I think being taller than your customer is good. It gives you a sense of power.

Just wear kitten heels at work.

Honestly tallness is considered a status thing with beautiful women. Short women can't work as models in most areas. Use it to your advantage.

I'm 5'11 1/2 - I always throw that in when the guys ask. With heels I'm 6'5", and I've never had an issue. Only problem I have is being on stage if it's small, so I keep it slow and sensual with simple spins.

It is an advantage not a drawback. It's stately, elegant, désirable.

It will absolutely be an advantage and I'm jealous. As stated above, some guys may find it a touch intimidating, but it gives you power and influence. Being tall is highly desirable and 5'11 is tall without being too tall. It gives you a longer figure and can be very attractive.

I've always wished I were taller! I'm only 5'4" and it's noticeable if I gain 5-10 lbs. And I love to eat! lol For someone who's taller, you'd have to put on more weight than that before it would be noticeable to most people. Many men love the long-legged, supermodel look.

Height is an asset especially if you're thin. Lots of men with model fantasies.

This is just my observation but most guys love tall thin dancers. I worked with a girl who was five ten and SKINNY (like almost skeletal) and she was a huge moneymaker because she looked model-like. (Not flawless but very close to a Victoria's Secret type model build ....not something you see all the time in the Midwest.)

Shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve worked with two very tall girls, one 6’ and one 6’2” without shoes Both wore shorter like 5-6” heels and did very well. Guys will say dumb shit like “damn that’s a lot of woman,” girl I currently work with always replies “wanna see if you can handle me?” Go for it!

Agree with KK446. Tall is seriously hot and you'll do well, I promise. Tall is regularly seen as very attractive in most circles and I'm sure it will help you more than it will hurt you.
