Default Rumors of club dancers switching to camming.

I've been hearing that a few dancers have left the clubs to do camming at home. And they haven't returned to the club. Camming must be more profitable compared to some clubs lately. Any thoughts?

    Yup! ME.

Lapdances have been 20 dollars, and people have been tipping 1s onstage since the 80s. Inflation anyone? Did you know they used to pay dancers to work decades ago? Or at least let girls work for free? Crazy huh! With the rise of free porn, why do guys need to go to the club and get blueballs? Just ask Reddit what men think of strip clubs. The strip club industry has been declining.

Webcamming is great because porn and pussy is cheap. But relationships are not and that's why good web cam girls make so much. They can work anytime, anywhere, and reach more men. Men who know they wont have blue balls. Look at the front page of Chaturbate or Myfreecams. They'll have more traffic in one room, than most strip clubs will have all night.

This is NOT to say webcamming is easy. You got to work your ass off, and there's more girls and competition than ever. It will only get more fierce. I won't even get into how much top cam girls make, cause most people don't believe me when I tell them. Even average girls, with hard work, good personality, strong business minds and consistency can make a good living. All without ever being touched or leaving your home. You don't have to hustle like a stripper, your customers come to you on box sites. I love that part. <3

I recommend looking into it. Research camming connection like crazy. You're going to have to put in some hours! Most cam girls quit after 4 months. That's not always long enough to reap rewards. But what do you have to loose by giving it a try? Just keep in mind the positive and negatives of this business.

Some girls are just better suited as strippers, others as cam girls. Who knows what you'll like more and make more at. =)

    cutiecam made great points.

Also wanted to add that even when stripping is awesome you're limited by the opening hours of clubs. Basically every club in this area is now 9pm-2am which means there's a reasonable max that you can expect to make. Occasionally you'll get one of those unreal tips but for the most part, if you only have 5 hours to sell dances you're limited by time.

In the cam world if you need to work more, the only thing stopping you is whether you decide to or not. Like obviously you're human and need breaks but you see posts all the time about 24hr camathons etc which as a stripper just isn't possible except in a few clubs that never close.

Also the risk of physical sexual assault makes camming pretty appealing to dancers that are tired of custies constantly trying to cross boundaries they shouldn't.

Camming also gives you the ability to have more sideline passive income options, like making your own clips and vids. Other than occasional gifts from regs, strippers only make money while they're dancing.

I've done camming, I personally make way more stripping. I think it is just my hustle style. I liked camming for the fact nobody can even begin to try to touch you period. And honestly I think that touching is just a part of the job for a stripper these days unless you work somewhere that only air dances are legal and it is heavily enforced.

You can absolutely make a lot of money camming though. I think if I tried it again I would do a lot better than the first time honestly. But I wouldn't make cam/phone sex my only job. When I did that, it just drove me nuts. To each their own though.

Iíve done camming briefly in late 2015/early 2016 when I was only 19 at the time. The website Iíve used was Chaturbate. Iíve only made $50 bucks a month when I was on there because I didnít show my face, Iíve danced naked and yeah Iím black lol. Iíve also started dancing around that time as well and I just prefer irl stuff because the money is faster and more profitable for me

Camming is profitable if you're willing to put in the work. Stripping allows you to clock in and clock out. With camming, if you want to see money you need to relentlessly promote yourself on social media, build an audience, brainstorm ideas for shows/clips, create clips and various content, etc. The top cam girls in the industry are making more than top strippers BY FAR. There are cam girls making over a million a year. They are outliers and most of these girls are having 16+ hour days every day of the week, but they exist. To put it into perspective, that's $2740 per day which I can't imagine any stripper pulling in. Camming has the potential to bring in more money if you're willing to expertly market yourself and build yourself into a brand.

I prefer camming overall. It's nice not to deal with grabby customers. I don't have to pay a house fee just to try my hand at working, and I don't have to tip a million leeches who did nothing (DJ, house mom, managers, bouncers, and the list goes on) because I am contractually obligated. Camming means only keeping 30%-40% but without going into the details of what expenses cam sites have, I'll say that I believe it is a relatively fair percentage. Sometimes I don't feel like leaving my house, I am extremely introverted and entertaining on cam is a lot easier for me than entertaining in a club. Plus I tend to work best on spontaneous bursts of energy, whether that's at 2PM or 2AM, and putting that energy to work is as simple as logging on cam as opposed to working on a set number of hours at a strip club.

We might also add that stripping has definitely declined and seems to to continue to do so (no hard facts but just talking to people while traveling)... Camming is growing as far as I know?

    Right there with you.

I quit club dancing and began camming and clip-making full-time about 3 years ago after being a club dancer for 8 years.

It's not necessarily more profitable, but it IS more flexible (24 hours a day available hours), no force-fed drinks, no smoke, no customers who assault you and unsympathetic staff, etc.

However, I did gain 10lbs. Damnit.

Are any of you that are camming afraid of stalkers, neighbors or potential future employees seeing you on these websites? Many of these sites seem very public. Meaning it's easy to check out who's camming without even logging onto a site. And most cam models don't hide their faces. So there must be so many people aware of what you're doing, etc. Not to be an alarmist. I'm just curious if cam models have a lot of these fears. Also, of having so many stealing your image. And such an actual online presence. And what might happen to your image in the future since it's floating around in cyberspace.

I was just as afraid of stalkers and being assaulted while dancing.

I may not be in the majority as far as opinion, but I’m an “out” cammodel, and my fear of being recognized doesn’t really bother me. I’m pretty sure someone recognized me at the mall first and he kinda seemed more afraid of me than I should be of him.

On another note, I assume that since we are all ladies, we should have at least some minor self-defense training; if not just for piece of mind.

And yes, my image is stolen regularly. I’m battling a bot on both Snapchat and Skype currently that is scamming people- but I found out about them because OTHER cammodels sounded the alarm for me. I’m actually pleasantly surprised at the comradeship within the online community.

I would Cam if not for privacy issues. I always kept dancing a secret and would not want my business all over the internet.

I will be self-employed for the rest of my working days, so I'm not worried about losing future job opportunities as a result. Most people in my life know or have a good idea of what I do. If someone is so offended by the way I choose to pay my bills, and if they think less of me because of it, I encourage them to find their way out of my life. It's a legal, legitimate business and I'm not ashamed.

Crazy people are everywhere, and if there's a will there's a way. I take every precaution I can and hope for the best. I believe that sex workers are at a higher risk of encountering these types, but being a woman in general puts you at risk of stalkers/attackers/rapists. I don't feel any *more* afraid of these circumstances because of work.

Scammers stealing your image unfortunately comes with the territory. It is something you'll have to be on the lookout for, and go through the hassle of contacting companies and fighting to get these accounts down.

I stopped dancing after 15 years due to the fact of both burnout & weight gain over the years. Clubs got to the point of not hiring me unless it was a ghetto ass dive & low tier guys (cheapos). I make about the same now as I did dancing really, however I do get my lazy spouts of not logging on as often as I should which results in not making any $$$.

I really do not miss the dressing room bs, the asshole mngrs telling me I'm too big to dance or i'm not their "type" (whatever that is anymore), or the dj politic crap. All in all I'm waaay happier as a cam girl/pso.
