Ugh, I read her book. I didn’t particularly like her. I didn’t find her that helpful. Did you?

I just watched her speak on TV! She's the reason I'm lurking on SW looking for Roth IRA advice lol.

God Suzy changed my life. Many of us weren’t blessed to grow up in fananicially knowledgeable families, especially immigrant families that dont understand the proper rules for saving and investing to become successful. Like Suze always says, financial habits are inherited. Listening and reading Suzy’s teachings has turned my life complely around. I developed positive financial habits and also share them with my friends and family who are financially illiterate. Even the basics will help you tremendously. I still have other stuff to cross of my to do checklist like get a Living Revokable trust, but everything else, from now having zero debt and a crazy great credit score is all owed to Suzy’s teachings. I love how she also empowers women to make logical financial decisions when it comes to relationships and family. Remember, if you dont take care of yourself FIRST, you can’t take care of anyone else. And anyone who asks for help that doesn’t respect that, you need to love them at a safe distance so that you don’t end up in their financial mess.

    THIS ^^^^^^^

and pro tip- the web site Legal Zoom does awesome detailed Living Will & related documents. BUT if you need the paperwork/file right away you have to pay an expediting fee. Not a big deal but important to remember.

I'll add to this discussion in the future.

I remember she strongly recommends a cohabitation agreement- she has my respect. financial issues are 90% emotion and 10% head knowledge. She has a lot of head knowledge though. I’m trying this program called underearners anonymous. I will let you know how it is

Ok I listened to the podcast. That was a wild ride. More politically incorrect and personal than I was expecting.

IMO Suzy touches on attitudes about money management ("I trust my husband with our shared finances" "I need to keep up with the Joneses" "I have a surface understanding of my finances, isn't that enough?" "I put up with inequality at work because everyone else in my department does that")

I guess Suzy comes off too strong (or maybe too much like Dr. Laura) for some people's liking.

I can handle her attitude because I have female relatives as brutal as her lol.

All I can add is, thankfully because of generational/cultural changes, women are getting more concerned about money. I also agree with Suzy that the 2008 Great Recession was a Depression.

I am in Canada, so to find the right financial advice has always been take what I need and leave the rest.

I've videos lined up in the que for my youtube channel to document my financial freedom journey. I am not about getting rid of my debt. I want financial balance/harmony.

I see credit and debt as a tool to advance myself in life. and debt is jsut the cost of money.

I realized when I was going over my receipts from cashing my checks from money mart. Yes they take their fee they are a business and businesses need to make money. but the face value of my checks I always get that amount.

I am just at an advantage because it is USD, and I am in Canada. so the exchange rate gives me a buffer where I don't loose the face value amount on the check.

so I am going to be saving the difference. and see how much that adds up. So like one check was $139.61 - I walked out of money mart with $159.45. since the printed value says $139.61 I should save $19.84. I am looking at if that $19.84 goes into my retirement account or my tax free savings account.

I am putting myself on automatic savings, plus I can definitely live off the face printed value of $139.61.

If I need to make up more money I can trade in my forex broker account.

I am just really lookign at money really differently that money is everywhere and it's moving to who ever wants it and can take care of it. basically money is a big whore and so am I
