Reminder Nerd to knockout AKA who's laughing now thread :)

Hi everyone. I had an idea for a thread where those of us who were picked on for whatever or have changed amazingly physically coyld post our stories? Maybe pics if the poster is comfortable doing so? If you guys like the idea, than like this post and I'll post my story first. If everyone hates it, I'll ask the mods to delete the thread, but I'm hoping others are into it. Thanks for reading, I hope at least a few people dig the idea

I dig it but I'm not sure the blues are who you were asking. There used to be a thread like that on reddit but here I'm sure it would be a lot better.

No matter how you look or anything else, bullies are everywhere to try you, both verbally & physically..
Reminds me of the true story, a guy in a bar (a bodybuilder) decided to pick on a physically smaller guy, who just happened to be skilled in martial arts.
Unfortunately for Mr Bodybuilder, he was permanently disabled by the altercation & hung himself

I was a rough looking kid who became quite good looking if I must toot my own horn.

I really think it is all about the clothes (do they fit your body), physical looks (sometimes enhanced with makeup/spa treatments/surgery), and inner confidence - which a lot of young people are not doing yet - hence the common "awkward" phase among many young people

Reminds me of that one rap song by that dude mike jones where he said 'Back then heauxs didn't want me, now I'm hot - heauxs all on me"

*sorry for rehashing rap lyrics with that term but you get the gist of what it means

Sad but we live in a superficial world where pretty people are privileged. The only way ugly people can experience the privilege is if they are rich and/or get beauty enhancements/surgeries or they hang with non-superficial people (which is usually when you are very mature and/or old and don't gaf)

I was a pretty baby/child and then had a really awkward phase when I was 13-15. I had braces, horrible cystic acne, I dyed my hair this weird brown/reddish color and it didn't suit me at all. My hair was also very thin and damaged since this was back when being "scene/emo" was cool and we all fried the shit out of hair with straighteners. I put on weight (I was never very overweight, but a little chunky). I didn't know how to do makeup very well, either. This was before YouTube beauty gurus/Instagram makeup artists were a thing. Now you see 14-yr-old girls who have their makeup on point thanks to the internet. I didn't know how to present myself well and I wasn't very refined. I had one bully tell me in middle school that no matter how much makeup I put on, I'd never be pretty. Years later, these little boys came out of the woodworks trying to hit me up on Facebook. LOL!

Anyway, the braces came off and now my smile is gorgeous. Even now I wear my retainers almost every night. I went on Accutane and that cleared my skin. I now get monthly facials and I've figured out a good skincare routine that works for me. I lost the weight, toned up, and got a boob job. I've learned how to do my makeup, style my hair, dress cutely, and accessorize. I can take care of myself better now. A lot of it is growing up and getting out of that weird ugly duckling phase so many of us go through, and developing confidence. Money helps too. I can afford to do more for my appearance now than I could when I was a teenager. I got my appearance and body up to par when I started stripping at 18. I strongly believe that ANYONE can be a knockout if they have enough money. There are very few physical flaws that money can't fix.

I'm a busy person but I would take time out to knock up a treatment of this concept for TV. They've done it before but not with dancers, who seem to be endlessly fascinating to the civvie population

I don't want to post pics for privacy reasons but yeah, I was hideous as a kid and now as a maturated female I am attractive.

Oddly enough I have spent time thinking about people who bullied me when I was tiny and ugly....the majority of them are losers in adulthood. Like I am over my anger and hurt. My life went to great places and those people regressed.

& I do agree money, makeup and hairstyling can transform people.

I was bullied constantly because of my looks growing up. I wasn’t even that ugly, it’s just that I didn’t know how to work with my natural features, and my parents were extremely cheap and unhelpful. My hair is naturally thick and poofy and my mom insisted on making me cut it into a short bob which looked horrible! She also refused to buy me good quality hair tools and products because they were ‘’too expensive’’. I always wore my hair in a ponytail because I didn’t have the right tools to do it nice. We also weren’t allowed to shop at expensive stores, so I had to wear cheap looking shit and hand me downs from my cousins. And they wouldn’t pay for braces or buy me a nose job when I asked them too. I looked like crap when I was a teenager and had horrible self esteem. Looking back, it wasn’t because I was ugly, it’s because I was neglected. People who look good when they are kids and teens almost always have their parents and their money to thank for that. Once I made my own money, I transformed myself into a knockout. But I still hurt thinking about my past and all that I missed out on.

Same here. In short my mom was convinced if her daughters looked attractive/"sexy" to others we'd go get pregnant as teens (I'm not kidding this was her attitude.) She was also very vain so the idea of her being overshadowed by her daughters looks-wise probably hurt her and we all knew she wasn't good at dealing with her emotions.

Yeah my mom was the same, she would RAGE at me anytime I dared try to show off my body or want to look sexy. It’s a shame because I actually DID have a good body when I was a teenager but nobody could tell because I would wear such unflattering clothes. I discovered after high school that wearing certain types of clothing made my body look more attractive. But my mom is also very selfish and narcissistic and made sure that my dad’s money would only be spent on her nice things, but not mine.

Oooh interesting! I was the smart kid my whole life and everyone knew it, which didn't help. My mom is not girly at ALL, so I didn't know how to do my hair/makeup, and we shopped at JC Penney instead of Hollister. I had no idea how to dress. There's a few photos where you can see I was definitely very pretty in a natural way, but that wasn't enough.

I was bullied really badly in middle school. We only had 2 groups, weirdos/goth kids and popular girls. I was 'allowed' to hang with the popular girls because I had been friends with a few of them since before being cool was a thing... But the other girls were hella mean. At one point they started a rumor that I was a lesbian (which was a huge horrifying thing back then). Constantly talking shit about me.

It got better in high school to some degree. I started dying my hair and wearing skirts & heels, though I still wouldn't call it great fashion sense. I had a much better group of friends, and those boys had crushes on me, but the popular football/dirtbike type guys wouldn't even look at me. The smart/nerdy kid thing still followed me. I made the performance dance ensemble, but those girls were even more horrible to me than in middle school... one of the gay guys actually wrote in my yearbook "I'm sorry they were so mean, you're a really cool girl!"

I think I was probably about 20/21 by the time I hit 'hot' - that's when I began having guys bothering me frequently. I would say I hit full 'knockout' status a few years ago, around 24. It's confidence more than anything, but finding the right hair/makeup/clothing that flatters you is a big thing.

I get those same douchebag dudes from high school hitting on me via FB, and it's hilarious. I would have been sooooo excited back then, but now I just say "LOL, not interested" and block them.

I was very short and thin until my 16th year when I grew 6" one summer, but that didn't help the 'thin'. Nothing helped the thin except many, many years working out and finally a muscle memory so even if I slack a while I still bounce back fast.

Living in Maine from 12-17 as a kid from Detroit who talked funny and sucked at sports was no fun at all. I got a lot of shit from the jocks especially, but I could kill them with my bare hands now.

I'll never be a muscleboy but when the shirt comes off they are always surprised and so funny, the ones that see me at gym or walking around the island tip me better after.

Thursday night is my night to go party as my 'monday morning' is saturday night. This past thursday I had a dancer friend at my last club repeatedly attacking me at the bar, unbuttoning my shirt completely, etc, even after I did it back up to go talk to the DJ.

Not going to post a picture because last time I did that some idiotic twat I warned--and another mod banned--posted the picture on a stripclub review website, claiming I was hitting on her at work.

^^Keys seems like a great community. I have two friends down there, one a hair stylist and the other a professor. They're always posting pictures of themselves from their terraces with champagne overlooking the water /threadjack

A FLOOD of women came and a FLOOD of would be pimps came in the form of bouncers house moms and managers and DJs all with their hands out and a massive sense of entitlement.

Now there is this weird dynamic of people throwing attitude and using the club to validate their worth. Everyone is on this bizarre snottiness trip with each other. It was a magnet for women who danced or had cheer or gymnastics backgrounds. Now it's a stiff scene of people saying "Look at Me NOW!" I think that this resentful crop of people took the business in a very dysfunctional direction.

I was under the impression that Dr. Phil is very down on the adult industry and "sexual misconduct". (Like he pretty much puts sex offender and sex workers in the same social category.)
