    Default Burnout

I’ve posted something similar to this before, but is there anyone that works a day job til late at night and then heads to the club til 2 or 4am? I work my day job til 8 or 9pm and find it SO damn hard to find the energy or motivation to work another physical 6 hours. How do you guys do it and push through that exhaustion and dread????

it kinda depends on your age? when i was 20 i could work until 2am at the club and still go to my internship at the hospital the next morning at 7am! and i had another job!

unfortunately i feel like now at 27 that would be impossible. no amount of coffee or positive affirmations could keep me motivated enough to do all that. partially because dancing is not as new and exciting to me anymore and partially because my body just can't handle it. sometimes you have to find a way to lighten your load so you don't wear yourself out. nowadays when i overdo it i don't make money at the club anyways bc im too tired.

thanks for the response. I’m 31 so i definitely feel the exhaustion. I think i put all my energy in the shitty paying day job. I seriously just need to quit it. I bust my ass all fucking week off to make $250 a week when I can easily make that on a fri night for a few hours at the club. I just wish club money was more consistent

My exhaustion is mostly emotional. I practice a lot of self-care. Which pays into a longer career with dancing. Meditation, yoga, therapy.

I would seriously consider quitting the day job. An extra $250/week isn't worth the physical or emotional exhaustion it's costing you. Plus with the new downtime and more relaxed schedule you would likely make even more at the club because you would come in feeling energized and refreshed. $250 is peanuts in strip club money. If you work 5 days a week, you'd just have to focus on making an extra $50 a night in addition to your regular earnings and you'd be making just as much as you made at your day job. Of course, it depends on your longterm goals and I don't know your situation but if the day job isn't adding any benefit to your life or your end goal, then why keep it?

I guess I just keep it because I have a problem with discipline. If I know I dont have to go to work, I’ll come up with excuses not to go. I feel if I purposely quit the day job. I’ll have no choice but to go regularly. i work for a vet where I get great discounts and its helpful for my senior pets (one with cancer) so thats one reason Ive stayed. But its burning me out badly and I spend more money getting there and so many hours traveling its just hard to see it as worth it. but then I also worry about the weeknights when clubs are the slowest. What if I dont make enough? It’s all so confusing. I just need to have more integrity. My confidence took a huge hit and I was rejected at every club in my area except for 1 urban club (where I’m the only white girl). So i never wanna go in because if my self esteem which I know i need to feel good. Im in between clubs right now because I cant find a good one. The one I most recently quit was like a hispanic night club (but they seemed to only like the hispanic girls only.) so much discouragement and excuses on my end lol

Don't let your ego beat yourself up. If that's you in the picture, you look really pretty. No need for you to be insecure. It's the other clubs loss. And they maybe just were overbooked with dancers. I think you should keep the day job. Or, see if you can go down to 3 days there. Then dance one or two days a week.

It's better to have multiple sources of income, IMO. If you can, try working one or 2 nights a week at the club. I work both a vanilla job and also dance Saturday nights. Have you tried camming or pso work? Or some other side income?

Maybe you just need to request a week's vacation in order to rest and feel refreshed. Then afterwards, if you still feel burned out, it's time to move on and find another job.

Good luck babe! Btw I agree with the above poster, you are very beautiful if that's you in your avatar. I have no idea why any club anywhere would turn you down. I'm sure you will find a good club somewhere. Don't give up and keep your head up!
