    Default Possible Threat?

This started today and I am not sure why. Contacted Vanessa from SM and haven't heard back from her yet. As you can see from the screenshot, there is no one in my room and I was off line. Still.. that #1 wont go away. When I scroll over it , this pops up (b;cak dontr). I remember reading somewhere a while back it's illegal video live shots being taken by third parties for images. I did check and there are images there I never had on google from free chat today while working. I also read it could be hackers trying to get free shows w/o paying? SMH. I am totally confused by this.

Has any other cam girls experienced this nonsense before? If so.. what can be done?

Are you referring to that #1 you have circled? That's your quick text. Have you tried clicking on it? It should just put in the message that you have saved there for a quick text in your chat room. Lol, I think you're just really confused as to how SM works. You can save up to 5 messages there and they will be numbered. It looks like you only have 1 saved. This is so that you can send a quick "saved" message to your chat room. I have things like "Hello" and "Please take me to Private Chat to see more!" saved in mine. That's all that is.

Here's what mine looks like with multiple messages saved:

If you have marketing and/or don't have geo-blocking enabled, any affiliate can grab screenshots and live or recorded video from your room and use it for driving traffic and sales. Its perfectly allowed under their affiliate program.

If you turn on geo-blocking, then technically affiliates are not allowed to grab anything from you. The basic rule is they can take anything a public person could see without logging in, which if you enable geo-blocking, means they can't see anything (and you can't even check yourself).

We did a pretty thorough study on this about 6 months back, and it does hurt your sales as a beginner to use geo-blocking by around 10-20%, but that effect goes away almost entirely if you're driving your own traffic or you have a good size fan base (over 3000 favorites).

What you may encounter are people pretending to be support trying to get you to turn on your "external shows", which is a feature you don't have access to by default. This allows anyone that knows your link to pirate or live-broadcast your private and gold shows. Some models use it to just stay in paid chat by default, but unless you have a massive fan base, its a lost cause as it kicks you to the last pages. This is the angle the scammers will use to get you to turn it on for them. Legitimately it is used for when you have a fanclub/affiliate site with your own pay wall and want to do schedules live shows for your subscribers.

Affiliates also cheat quite a bit, or don't know or follow the rules. If you can find the link where you saw those pictures or videos, you can find their affiliate number or whitelabel name. Then just let support know and they'll be "corrected" (usually) pretty quickly.

If its not an affiliate, but some kind of pirate or fansite, then you need to let their DCMA department know the exact link.

Streamate with a different logo sounds like a straight up white label. Can you give me the link in a PM?

That number 1 is as SoloDesire said, ur preset saved message in freechat.
Since Guest users and Paid users are both 0 (zero) u have nothing to worry about in this case.

What i found odd the other day when i tried SM Connect was that even i was not streaming anymore and my OBS was not Sending data AND my chat window in SM Connect said Offline there was a guy who's name was still in my chatroom there on the left side in member's list.
SM Connect has a different design and functions but that person was stuck in there and not sure how that was even possible cause on the regular chat window once u go offline they all disappear from chatroom.
I refreshed the chat window for SM Connect and the name was still showing, now THIS i call ODD but considering SMC is still in beta testing i assume it was a glitch.

Are affiliates allowed to record private shows and display them publicly to drive traffic to their whitelabels Katy? I’ve had a issue with this lately.

I’ve contacted Streamate about it. No proof that the affiliate who owns the white label committed the fraud but it’s definitely fucking sketchy. Maybe they can get it taken down just based on the fact that the show wasn’t actually paid for.

From my understanding of the rules as explained a few times, rando white label owners/affiliates are not allowed to display anything that they would normally need to be logged in to capture, such as anyone's anything that's using geo-block, any shows that had a pay wall (privates, gold shows), full videos, etc.

They can record your gold show teasers and sales pitch before the show and anything you do in free chat, and are free to use photos from your album that are public and video teasers if applicable. as well as take any screen shots from those or the ones you use for your profile picture. Anything on the site is fair game if they are not logged in.

Studios have full rights to use anything they wish in accordance with the agreement between you and them. We never have tested that (and its restricted in our TOS), but many studios running their own whitelabels are free to do so or farm it out to their personal traffic promoters.

If anything is recorded that doesn't fit the above, Streamate can and will issue a DMCA, but its not guaranteed to work (depending on hosting and jurisdiction) and if it does the process can be slow.

If it is an affiliate breaking the rules after a warning and explanation, they can get their accounts yanked.

So, they aren't allowed to record your actual gold shows and post them? I have a video of my very first gold show on what appears to be a white label site for SM and I absolutely hate it! The angles are all off and I look horrible, had no clue what I was doing at the time. Number one, I hate that it is up there for free but if it actually looked good, it would at least be advertising. I didn't think I could get it taken down because they are a white label. It would be great if I could have it taken down.

Last night I sent support my situation and they replied with “the request to have your link removed has been submitted”

Which I’m guessing they mean video...I’m going to follow up and make sure.

I had already submitted a DCMA takedown with no luck so hopefully they did more than that.

I’m going to keep an eye on mine. It’s definitely worth a try submitting to support and asking for help with it being taken down.

Thanks! I'm going to contact them then. Can't hurt to try.
