    Default Aromatherapy (essential oils)

I never really cared much about essential oils until recently, I get headaches easily from extreme smells and thought they'd be too messy to deal with. Well I read they can serve a lot of purposes so I splurged and bought a few from Edens Garden for the hell of it. I kind of forgot about them until I got really bad period cramps and remembered hearing they were useful for that, so I put a few drops of peppermint and lavender onto a warm compress and the cramps were gone almost immediately! I also felt incredibly relaxed and even a bit euphoric.

Now I'm all about them lol I've been using them for teeth grinding, skin care etc as well with great results. Just something random I felt like sharing

Yes I need to do this more. Didn't know they worked for teeth grinding, that's great.

A few drops of eucalyptus oil in the shower does some good too. I have asthma and a dog who also has respiratory problems so now I bring him into the bathroom during showers. Its been working out beautifully. Vaporizers are so cheap now that you can get one for every room or use a small crockpot (don't cook with it afterwards). I like to mix lemon and amber oils together for an overall house scent. I think its a happy good will sort of smell.

I'm following this thread because I love herbs and essential oils! I have all kinds of oils but I use them for either my hair or skin. I don't use them for aromatherapy but that is a great idea. I should get some lavender oil.

Lavender is great as a calming and soothing method. Works well with scents like almond and vanilla. Lots of baby products have these ingredients to help with sleeping. I think if you're going to use lavender then use it at the end of the evening. I've made lavender dry rubs for chicken with the leaves and started snoring 30 minutes later. It works.

I ordered a cute little diffuser off amazon and it arrived in the mail today. It was only $15 and works great! Such a nice touch to have in my room. Until now I had only been using the oils topically. I can’t wait to experiment with the different scents at bedtime to help me relax

Update: I put a few drops of Rosemary into the diffuser prior to taking a little powernap. I woke up feeling super charged, almost like I had a ton of caffeine. My heart was beating a little faster than usual as well. I didn’t have the uncomfortable and shaky feeling I get from too much caffeine but I definitely felt a huge boost of energy. I can’t believe how powerfully the oil worked!

My favorites are sage and lavender for calming, and orange to boost my mood. Will try rosemary and lemongrass next. I also have eucalyptus when I get sick. I love essential oils.

I hobby making perfumes and from my studies, and my experience, peppermint, lavender and lemon oils should always be in stock. The benefits of these three oils are almost endless. From using them as natural cleansers, to aromatherapy. I heard moderate ingestion will help common illness like allergies and asthma but I’m not sure how safe to ingest these oils, so i use the tea version of these ingredients and absolutely feel cleansed.

Not essential oils exactly, but: Play-Doh, Crayolas, new action figures, freshly cut grass, movie popcorn...

You should look into buying a few candles with these scents. Ive seen buttered popcorn and grass scented candles on amazon and etsy.

I love naturally derived essential oils! I make my own all purpose cleaner using vinegar, tea tree, peppermint, cinnamon leaf, and eucalyptus. I also use tangerine and jasmine as perfume. It's nice when your house dosent smell like a cupcake candle. Artificial smells are the pits!
