Default Logitech webcams & Mac OS support?

Hiya! I've been looking at camming for about a month now, reading up everything I could find, and I haven't seen an answer to this yet.

The Logitech C270, which I frequently see recommended, only supports Mac under what they call USV Mode (USB Video Device Class). Google has given me a bit of info but I haven't been able to find as much for cam streaming specifically. For those who have Macs, can you explain what this is and how it affects the video quality / easy of use / anything else important? I'd appreciate it a ton.

I'm pretty tight financially at the moment, so I can't just order that and one of the Mac OS compatible to evaluate. Right now, what I've got is a laptop webcam. It's decent for video streaming and chat but the video quality is lesser than I would be comfortable with for videos and clips and such.

Thanks all! Nice to meet you.

I have a Mac and I use Logitech 930 and downloaded the Logitech camera settings app from the apple app store. I work on SM and I have used it on CB in the past too. I have also used it for videos. It works great for me. After you download the Logitech camera settings app, just click the auto box to off, so your camera stays in focus. Also check out the Logitech website site on the Logitech 930.

Huh, what I saw for this particular Logitech model said (on Amazon) that the Logitech app was not compatible with Mac OS. If this is not the case, well, yay! Thank you!

You are welcome. Yep, the Logitech Camera Settings app works for me. YouTube might give you more information on it too.
