This is kind of why I've nagged people to stay put and not attempt too much if they're going to get really drunk.

    Very sad.

heyyy this is a really good thing to nag! I'm not gonna get into it too much and obviously I'm still alive, but this could've quite easily been me during my drinking years

Yeah,it's not seen as 'cool' to nag about substance abuse issues, but it's very necessary.

I hate posting this on the Internet but Rockies/Plains states have depressing stats about how ….creatively and by surprise drinking binges can kill people.

Case in point- 4 teens were drinking & driving, truck rolled down a mountain. The only survivor was too injured to explain what exactly happened or who was driving (they all got ejected in the rollover part of the accident.)

I really doubt that person made it (survived) in the long run. & Honestly that's one of the more typical cases.

It's also difficult for the substance abuser. I knew I had a drinking problem. But also felt like I had no idea how to cope with the underlying causes of my drinking problem. Didn't help that most people in my life including family were big drinkers too (hello Wisconsin). There are so many times I could've died from blacking out drunk while swimming, biking on busy streets, in the shower, in the club, using other substances, etc. I'm happy to be alive. Y'all on here never stop nagging your homies to get help.

It's grueling and emotionally.....gory though. There's a great movie about a long drawn out intervention for an old alcoholic called "Affliction." Having grown up with an alcoholic in my home I felt the performances were spot-on.
