Default who makes/sews their own costumes?

what up y'all. I'm a pretty Crafty Person and I think it's about time I start sewing my own outfits. I don't want to sell them, I just want to have a go at making them. I've sewed lots of regular clothes in the past for me & my daughter and am looking for patterns/advice on sewing lingerie and stripper outfits. Y'all do this? Hit me up thanks

I've done alterations by hand. FWIW a basic sewing machine can be had for pretty cheap (about $100.)

depending on what you are trying to make, patterns are probably pretty basic. you would measure yourself, since they will be for you. but beyond a halter&string tie bikini i wouldn't have a clue how to start..

I make costumes!! You can hack existing patterns for panties/booty shorts and play around with changing them in different ways. Simple stuff like string bikini top are easy, basically triangles and strings... I would also say if you have some outfits that are a little worse for wear, cut them apart at the seams and try to trace them to make your own patterns! Oh and get a ballpoint needle if you're sewing stretch fabrics, it helps a TON. Let me know how it goes I love this stuff...

BasicTease on etsy sells PDF patterns of some simple stuff: https://www.etsy.com/shop/BasicTease...on_id=12912021

Most dancers I know who sew dancewear have made their own patterns by measuring items or even taking apart old outfits and tracing all the pieces.
