I booked a two week trip to NOLA, thinking that it'll be great, just like the last two times I went there. Well, it hasn't been the case this time. What's going on?
I arrived on a Wednesday evening, late. I went to Ricks two nights in a row, and was told to come back 2-6 the next day and when I came back at 5:33 the following day, I was told to come in at 2-4. I got a hold of the house mom via a mutual friend, who finally told me that Ricks NOLA only does auditions Tuesday and Wednesday, 2-8 and you need to ask for a specific manager.
I got rejected by Penthouse. That was to be expected as this is what happened to me last time, a few years back as well. Penthouse does their auditions everyday until 8pm. I auditioned close to 8pm, and it seemed a bit slow. Staff and manager who gave me a 'no' were very nice.
I was going to audition at Hustlers, but while filling out my application inside, it looked so dead and to put it nicely, not my first choice of club (not my vibe), and so I asked them if I can come back the following night to finish the audition once I got my travel plans squared away, as there was a good chance I might need to go back home the following day. I come back the following day, and sure enough, they tell me to come back the next day, 2-8, as there are no managers doing auditions at the time.
Is it really more difficult to get hired now at the clubs, post-raids? Are the audition times really much more restricted than they were previously? Or is this an issue that is entirely on me, look centric? Admittedly, I've aged a few years, gotten some questionable plastic surgery and have been asked where are my husband and kids more than once, so...
Last time I was here, I felt welcomed with open arms, a smile and money strewn all over me. Perspectives?
