Forego a car if at all possible.
Tax deduct as much as you can (nails, hair, the expensive plastic shoes we wear, your $30 stripper thongs, sometimes even transport to work and back if you're an independent contractor, travel for work to maximize profits, self-employed retirement account not ira, etc).
Cook at home. In addition to that, I'd advice for you to not buy brand name foods unless they are on sale. I always skim discount foods at the store to save even more $$$.
Shop at thrift stores (unless you are shopping for work clothes).
Get a man to pay for your plastic surgery as a gift like I did.
Your hair and nails are essential for this work-we're not paid for our wit and vulnerability after all; we are paid on our presentation and looks, only. So I do not agree with cutting that out it is an ordinary and necessary expense for an entertainer, even if the some will most likely beg to differ.
As far as credit cards, I think you should use them to build up your credit as long as you remember to pay them off right away. I think that's the conventional wisdom about credit cards.
Am I missing anything?
