I don't dance yet and wanted to know how I measure up compared to others.
I work out and diet contently. The only thing that seems to work for shaping seems to be swimming but my pool is closed.

I have worked with girls who have your body type, usually in smaller neighborhood clubs. You don't have tattoos, which is a plus in strip club world, and your butt and boobs are nice and perky.
Have you visited strip clubs to see what other dancers' bodies look like?

I've also worked with dancers whose bodies look like yours in smaller more relaxed clubs. I think with good posture and a waist cincher you're good to start at places like that (waist cinchers are a lifesaver imo). You'll also tone up on the job as long as you don't drink a lot or go out to eat after every shift.
In the "normal" world your body is nice of course![]()

Your body is just fine for smaller, neighborhood type clubs. You might not get hired at upscale pickier clubs-you're not fat, but could be more toned in the stomach and upper arms. It really depends where you want to work. You have small breasts and unfortunately, girls with larger breasts can get away with being not as toned in some instances.
If you don't mind tanning, I would suggest getting a tan-most people look slimmer with a tan. Good luck!
Same thing others said. Do a fake tan. I like tanning mousse. It will make you look more tone and about 10 lbs lighter. Also make sure you are wearing the right thing. For you I would suggest a black thong onesie/ body suit. It will make you look thin in the stomach and will accentuate your butt and boobs. You should be able to get hired in most clubs.
Start off in the smaller clubs. The upscale ones can be harsh. Wear a black waist cincher or underbust corset. You don't have to be tan. My pale ass lacks the ability to tan and l look like a cheeto when I wear fake tanner so don't feel obligated to tan but you can if you want to.

Don’t compare and despair. Shake your ass and make some cash.
^^ all the above advice. I personally performed in mid tier clubs. Even though I’m decent looking, I don’t want to dance with a bunch of look a likes. Just my personal preference.

You can start now, but the above recommendations would be smart to follow. I do recommend losing weight, but you don't need to lose to start-just don't try going to ultra picky clubs yet.
Lifting or similar helps. Ab work or swimming/ things along those lines help.
Cardio is good to accelerate weight loss, otherwise I don't find it very useful imo.

Jumping rope is a great exercise for shaping. Have you tried that?

Fake tan and a corset, change your diet and try exercise that target far burning and abs. Like others said try small club.

Great advice in this thread, and accurate to my experiences.
Other things that will make a difference are club lights, how you style yourself (makeup, hair, outfit), how well you can dance / move, and your personality / charisma level.
Well, your body is really good. If you do regular workout and diet your body will be better day by day![]()
Can I jump on this with what may be a stupid question? So I'm also a complete newbie with similar body anxieties. I have a great waist, but I'm not super toned yet, and I'm about 10 pounds heavier than I'd like to be. I definitely look better in one-piece outfits, and so far it looks like that's what a lot of the girls in my area are dancing in. My question is can you actually audition in a one-piece, or do they want to see you in a bra and thong? Can you wear the one-piece and then just strip down to your thong if they want to see more of your body? Thanks so much for the help!

Auditions vary a lot. Most places I've worked have you dance onstage and strip down to a thong. So in that event, you'd definitely be fine with the one piece. Some clubs require you to audition in a two piece (Vegas clubs are that way). Some look at you in street clothes and hire you on the spot. Some bring you to an empty champagne room and ask to look at your midriff. Some have you email them pictures and contract you on that.
Yikes, how are you ever supposed to know? Would this be the sort of thing I could ask when I call the club, or would that make me look like I don't know what I'm doing? I'm in NYC and looking just at dives and urban clubs and the like, and my impression is some places you get on stage but a lot of places they just look at you. So that's why I wasn't sure if I would have the chance to change into a proper outfit or if I would just be taking off my clothes in front of whoever's doing the hiring.
