    Angry Accused of stealing money?

    Tonight was a crazy night.

I was busy from 8pm until 10:50ish pm and made about $720 so I wasnt on the floor for a while. Then I went to the DJ booth and then went to the bathroom...when I came out of the stall I noticed a wallet by 1 sink. I IMMEDIATELY told the barback that there is a wallet in the bathroom.

Around 15 minutes later, manager calls me into his office and accuses me of stealing. Says that im the only one on video who walked into the bathroom since this girl with a missing wallet left it (missing $250). I argued with him but he spoke over me and didnt believe me at all, and got angry with me. He said he didnt have any proof so he let me go...but implied that he thought I took the money.

I've worked there for a little over a year and had 0 issues with the club. He completely disrespected me by not listening to me, not believing me, talking over me, and basically talking to me like a criminal. I decided I won't ever go back to that club again.

It doesn't help that I told the manager (before the incident) that I made good money early on in the night, and that I was on camera when I went to the washroom when the wallet was there. But I DIDN'T take the money...by being honest and telling someone there was a wallet in there, it bites me in the ass and I will never be honest in a strip club again.

How could the money have gone missing? She didnt have the 250 is what I'm assuming. I have no clue what happened. I didn't take a dime. I even spent the next hour spam texting another manager (who believes me) telling him that if I stole money, i wouldnt report the wallet, that ive never stolen before and he had 0 issues with me ever, that im one of the top earners in the club. He responded by saying that he wants me to stay in the club and that they arent accusing me (but the other manager was). I told him I quit.

Would you go back to a club if they treated you this way? Has this ever happened to you?

If they took the money from me I would've been pissed. Quitting is better since I got a few customers who followed me from my old club, so they make money off of me.

That would be a tough call. I mean, it's easy for me to say I'd quit, but I'm not doing this full-time, either. I like the club I work at and do pretty well here, but I'm also adamant about my sense of integrity, and don't respond well to the type of treatment you received. At the very least, I would go out of my way to avoid having to deal with that manager again. If it wasn't possible, then I'd consider another club or even just sticking to my straight job and taking the time I use to strip to pursue other ventures and have a little more me time.

I haven't had anything like that happen. The biggest issue I've had with club staff was with a DJ. Trust fund baby who took the job because it let him stare at tits all night, always accused you of shorting him when you tipped him out and would try to shake you down for more money, always hit on the dancers, thought he was untouchable because his parents were friends of the most senior manager there would often play certain songs which were contrary to what we'd asked for just to piss us off because he thought it was funny (and I'm pretty sure every dancer walked off the stage at least once on account of him), and I've seen his Instagram... total fucking douchebag. However, he didn't realize that, just because the club owner was almost never in the club, it didn't mean there weren't direct lines to him. Said DJ's tenure was a very short-lived one.

I think the only thing I might have done differently in this situation was take the wallet to management myself ... but I also see where doing that could land you in the same position.

The one manager seems adamant about not believing you. Do you know if he is tight with the barback you talked to? That's the other possibility I would consider, along with, as you said, the girl didn't actually have that money -- that the barback lifted whatever was inside, took the wallet to the manager and blamed you for it being empty.

I might talk to the manager who believes you, and ask to review the security footage with him. At the very least, that would prove that you didn't take anything from the wallet. Like both of you, my sense of integrity is very important to me and I have a hard time brushing off this kind of accusation. If you otherwise like the club and do well there, it might be worth the effort to get your name cleared.

I asked the first manager if I personally could see the security footage myself, to which he responded no. It doesn't matter, I do believe him when he says I'm the only person who went in, but that would mean she lost the money elsewhere or that she didn't have the money in the first place - but that would only be something I personally know because I know I didn't touch the wallet. My point is, even IF I were the only person who went it, it means she lost the money elsewhere or she didn't have it! Whose to say she wasn't high, drunk, or misplaced her money elsewhere? If I were to steal money from a wallet in a bathroom, I would hide that wallet in my purse OR I would take the money and NOT tell anyone. Why would I see a wallet, take money, and immediately tell management? What?

I didn't touch/take the wallet to management, and maybe I should have, but I told the barback 10 seconds after walking out the bathroom which I think is equally sufficient (he's basically like management - worked there for years, does a lot of stuff for managers). I'm definitely having issues accepting this sort of accusation, and I won't go back, but it still pisses me off and I know I have to start somewhere new and I'm not looking forward to that because I did so well. Even if the other manager wants me to work there, the main manager was so rude to me that I can't just accept being accused. There would be no way to get my name cleared unless this dumb girl found her money. She worked there for years which is why they're siding with her.

I vow to never step foot in a strip club's washroom again, in case some foolish dancer leaves her money/wallet in there and I happen to be in there at the same time. This was literally my only 'mistake.'

Report them for a health code violation.

If someone in management is bending rules for a $250 piece of ass dancer (who most likely cooked up this accusation to get you fired from there.) ……….Someone should know that not all women don't see that kind of set up right away....

    Just my 2 cents.

I honestly don't think that it's anyone in management bending the rules, I believe they genuinely think I did it. I just don't believe that girl is telling the truth - she either didnt have the money or lost it elsewhere. Literally the only options.

Both managers liked me a lot and the barback even got dances from me, we were friends. It's all just a shock to me. I even spent the night texting the manager who believed me to defend myself even though I told him I'm not ever coming back...now why would I do that if I were guilty?

As for reporting them for health code violation...LOL I wish I had the balls to do that!

If you do decide to send in an anonymous tip wait it out a while so they don't immediately suspect it's you. Mgmt from different clubs always talk.

    Wow, that SUCKS!
    I'm so sorry it happened..

I'll tell you something that happened to me, it wasn't @ a club..
I went out drinking w/a couple girls, the girl who drove, ended up passing out. Before that, she asked me to drive, & gave me the keys..
As I was driving, the other girl, sitting in the back seat, asked to hold the passed out chick's purse, I remember wondering why, but handed it back to her. & btw, I NEVER liked or trusted that snakey bitch.
The next day, passed out girl & I were supposed to do something together, when I called she told me her $ was missing.
I assumed maybe she lost it in the bar or something, never thinking the other bitch was a THIEF.
One day, months later, I told the passed out girl that the other girl asked me to hand over her purse, but I wasn't accusing or anything.
It just popped in my head that I should tell her then, & I did.
She didn't say anything @ the time, but later told me the other chick accused me of taking the $! I was pissed, but never said anything, she did say she now thought I was innocent of that.

Maybe the whole thing was a set up?

Also, wtf can't you see the security tapes? Sounds like maybe her, the mgr, & bb are all in on it. Maybe she wanted also to get rid of you for some reason?
I know (again, not in a club) I saw a couple get up in a restaurant, the booth across from me, & a cell phone was left behind.
I ran after them & told the guy (he was closest to me) that the phone was left, bc, I didn't want anyone seeing me w/the phone in my hand, thinking I was taking it.

Also, please, don't be so hard on yourself! Maybe you can think it over & reconsider if you want to go back there? I can understand if you don't tho.

    Anyway, good luck

I was involved in a sort of similar disagreement (DJ accused me of not paying, I was 100% sure I paid upfront, management sided with DJ, did not allow me to see the footage) and I quit that club for someplace better and have never regretted it.
I worked with a waitress who pulled this stunt to see if a bouncer would pay attention to her lying. (She was a meth head and total bucket of trash as a person.) Anytime a person starts yelling about a large amount of cash missing, they either 1) got pickpocketed 2) spent it and want to pretend they lost it some other way or 3) are too intoxicated to be reasonable/crazy.

I'm sorry you had to deal with this. One time I had an experience with management detaining all dancers in a tiny dressing room after a full shift on the account that someone stole from someone. Like, we were held in a tiny little dressing room, literally prevented from leaving the room and the building on the grounds that we submit to a search in order to leave. Not sure if it's better to be singled out as you have been and falsely accused, or basically imprisoned at work as was my experience. Maybe time to find a new club? I don't think you can change the manager's mind. He seems pretty intent that you are guilty. It's unfair but he's entitled to his opinion, and that is all that it sounds like.

What a sad and frustrating situation to be in, you have my all thoughts
Do you have another job to go to? Don’t ever leave a job in anger, which may seem easy for me to say, but it will faster than you think strike you how important your job is! During the years, I don’t know how many times I have swallowed camels…and the worse...to keep my job! At least, be sure you’re economically safe before you leave!
