    Default tanning strategy

So I *love* the look of tanned skin except of course I'm white and sensitive to the sun with quite a few raised freckles. I don't even really think I should be going in to a bed 2-3 x a week. Its probably too much lol. Spray tans work nicely but they are $55 a pop. Even today someone said I look white. Maybe I need to rock a Dita Von Teese look and go from blonde to black or just rock being a pale blonde. Whats your tanning strategy if you are fair skinned?

Xen Tan is the best self tanner I've tried. Also popular with celebs. Honestly though I just rock pale skin most of the time, whether I have platinum or dark hair.

    Please. Don't.
Have you been to a dermo? I think you need to go..
Premature aging, skin cancers are no fun.

There's soooo many products..I'm pale af, currently using L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Hydrating sefl-tan milk, also Sublime Bronze Wash Off Body Makeup Lotion: it's a color, it washes off, & it's not like the prev one I listed, which's a gradual tanner.
There's also a newer Jergens, it gives a glow, not color, but brightens you up.

Sooooo many products. Don't risk your skin

    Thank you

I so agree with you, I’ve love the look of tanned skin!
While I’m not going to act as an advocat for the tanning bed business, I’ll be the first one to admit I use them frequently.
Yes, I’m guilty here..and please don’t bash me for that, it’s my own choice.
Another thing I like about it, is that I find the time I spend there so relaxing and enjoyable! Its totally my own time

I go once or twice a week. You know, when you’ve first got your desired tan, its often enough to go once a week to maintain.

There are certain tanning salons that offer monthly subscriptions with unlimited spray tans. I use Sun Tan City and pay $18 a month for unlimited level 2 tanning bed usage and unlimited spray tans (I use the Versa Spa, they have a couple different options). I must say the tan comes out PERFECTLY (not orange or streaky) and lasts a pretty long time. I do it once every 7-10 days, any more than that and it's too dark.

Look around for tanning salons that have subscription options that include unlimited spray tans. $18 a month to have a perfect tan all the time is a great deal IMO. I only use the beds occasionally - the spray tan does an insanely good job, and I'm ghost white naturally.

I'm as pale as a glass of milk.

I use the St Tropez mousse and the buildable tanner. I alternate both products and it lasts. One week I'll use the mousse, the following I'll use the lotion.

That's it. Don't need anything else.

ETA - I use these before going to bed. Idk how the fuck these girls apply self tanner lotions in the dressing room and not get a fucked up tan and get that shit everywhere. I let it air dry and still protect my bed and wear old PJs.

I had a customer complain to me that a girl stained his pants with self tanner. Don't be fucking stupid.

Thx! Yes normally fair I'll say. My pictured tan is helped by competition tanner (spray tan) as well!

i used to use tanning beds a lot and they are SO bad for your skin, even regular sun will give you a leather look long term that is so unattractive. so i quit sun tanning completely. I'm so white, you can see my veins clearly lol. i sometimes rock sally hansen or a spray tan at work when i feel fat or try to get hired, but spray tans stink so badly that when i start sweating work i feel like i reek from the tan.

bottomline for me, sally hansen works the best.

Does the Sally Hansen come off at work? Is there a trick to getting it to stay? I worked with a dancer who put it on in the dressing room before each shift for years, so I assumed I would be ok, but it came off all over my first customer's sweater. It's too bad because the color and texture were great.

do you exfoliate first? do you use it once a day after a bath or something? Ps you are a very gorgeous pale milk if that's you in your profile pic!

Ha. Sorry. That's not me. It's a drawing.

I don't bother to exfoliate every week. Unless I have way too much build up to the point where it looks uneven.

I just apply once every week.

the one from spray can has glitter and does come off, i don't recommend that one. there's one from a tube that isn't too bad. like i would not wear white or put it on and get into a car with beige interior, but other than that it's not really worse than how a spray tan rubs off a little.

the major pros are: doesn't smell and makes your skin look flawless. looks smoother than a spray tan

cons: hassle to put on and get it to look not streaky, need to use a mitt.
