    Default Fraxel laser and recovery?

I had a Fraxel laser treatment done today and so far my face is bright red and puffy which is normal. The doctor warned me that it would get worse before it got better and after 3 days it will start to calm down. Has anyone else had this treatment done? My dermatologist said I should be able to work by Friday but at this rate I'm skeptical.

I would Follow the doctor orders. You should be able to call them anytime. You can use mineral make up if you are too worried. I had my whole face peel off. Sounds like yours is pretty mild. I had to wear vasoline for days and couldn’t go outside.

If I may ask, was it worth the money?
I've been looking into, botox, fillers, etc. Trying to figure out which is best.

Itís hard to say, I guess it depends on what kind of issue you were treated for. When I removed a minor pigment spot on my shoulder, the skin started to peel off on the treated area, which it was supposed to do. If it had been my face, I definitely would not have been able to perform the first week.

I had mine aggressively done. It was a few weeks. It’s hard for us to tell without seeing your face. Don’t freak out if you have holes in your face. I think I had holes in my face for six months....freaked me out cause my doctor didn’t tell me.

I just did derma pen at home and my face is red but I can get by with some mineral make up. So if it’s just a “light” Fraxel I assume you could get by with makeup of your skin isn’t peeling, but just pink.

It really depends on the intensity.

It was a skin resurfacing to improve texture. My face is still a little red and swollen, and I have a few red/bloody pinpoint spots from the laser. I haven't started peeling yet. I think it was probably a light Fraxel.

I would suggest doing an acid peel first to get rid of unwanted layered skin.

Retinal A, Dysport, and sculptra are my favorite. Fraxel is for skin texture not a first choice for wrinkles. I shop around since it’s expensive. You can get retinol A from tellederm instead of a doctor.

Start with water and sunscreen if you don’t have the money

Oh yeah, I got a Sculptra injection to help fill out a scar too. Since it works with your own cells to stimulate new collagen, I don't really have an opinion yet.

I love sculptra it’s the shit! It does help with scaring. Pretty cool stuff. I hope you like your new skin.

    Ahh gotcha! Thank you!
I've been using over the counter retinols, vit C, and sunscreen religiously for years. It's worked wonders, aside from my forehead wrinkles. Time for the next stage for me. I think I'll go with the telladerm route until I can save for the injections.
    Goals though, goals!!!

Update on the Fraxel: AMAZING!!!! 10/10 recommend. I'm still recovering and I have a little redness and some of those little dots the laser leaves, but it's only been 5 days and you're supposed to give it a week. Not sure if the Sculptra is working already, but the scar I have has basically faded to the point where you can barely see it. I think with makeup you won't be able to see it at all.
