Makes sense. It's a foreign object in the body and the immune system probably wants to fight it.
1 in 1000, and not sure if that number also has women who will get cancer regardless of implants. The lifetime risk of breast cancer is quite scary at 1 of 8 women naturally.
I think it's a number game and a chance of probabilities. Like never smoke, one cigarette a day smoker versus a 2 pack a day. All have a chance, but the chances are higher with 2 pack but you never know... The never smoke could get it first just by bad luck and air pollution.

I think it depends on the patient.
I've had several occupations in my life where I was exposed to carcinogenic material and I am still cancer free.
My dad has dealt with carcinogenic material for his whole professional career (50 years)……...No cancer.
This is a question only a doctor can answer....

I guess this is not all new info. I have read that textured silicone has a higher cancer risk compared to smooth silicone, all since I began my search for info on implants several years ago.
I have heard this before and I do have silicone breast implants. It makes sense that implants could cause cancer. I try not to worry about it. I've already kicked cancer's ass before but in a below the belt region.
