    Default Tipping

    Iím not sure if I over looked it but in regards to tipping? How much is too much and how much is too little? do you tip the DJ before or after a song? Do you only tip the DJ when you request him to play a song? these may be stupid questions lol

    Most clubs you tip the DJ end of the night. $10 is pretty standard but some clubs do 10%. Idk it varies sorry. Try and see what other girls tip him at your club to see what the standard is.

    Seconding that you typically tip out everyone at the end of the night, and the amounts vary from place to place.

    That said, once you've gotten a better idea of how supportive your support staff actually is, you can see about tipping extra for particular favours or overall better help. I had a dj years ago who genuinely tried to help the girls make money, and more than once, his last-minute song adjustment to my stage set led to rain money for me. Due to the VIP layout, he was also able to help keep an eye on me when security wasn't nearby, as that club was understaffed. You can bet I tipped him extra for this additional help. In his case, dj minimum tipout was $10, I normally tipped him $20 base and more on top of that if his actions helped me make money.

    I also had a couple bouncers over the years who were absolute life savers. Same for them -- I found the good ones and treated them well. You will have to feel out both the staff as individuals and whatever extra amount you may want to offer based on your club's tipping policy.

    Also: some staff will try to tell you what the 'standard amount' is. They are not always honest about this and might try to high ball you, especially if you're new to dancing overall. Get the tipping details from management, ideally, or in a pinch, from another dancer.

    I tip the bare minimum allowed unless someone goes above and beyond to help me. The club will tell you what to tip each person. In my city 10% is the standard at most clubs for the DJ which is bullshit in my opinion, but such is life.

    Same, and I would refuse work at a club where tipping was mandatory for salaried staff. Fuck that.
    Now he said it a third time, and Ona drew a deep breath;

    I wish I had that option. Tip outs here are insane.

    Great thoughts in this thread.

    I'll add - I would always tell the staff why i was tipping them more money. If you do that, it'll help reinforce desired behaviors! Otherwise they might think that you tipped extra by mistake, or just out of generosity, or something. A quick comment like "a little extra for you tonight - thanks for your help during that last stage set!" You get the idea!

    i'm always generous at first to see if it will get me anywhere. then if i'm tipping noticeably well for a few shifts or weeks (depending on situation) and still get no special treatment from anyone (that results in more money), i say fuck it and go down to the bare minimum. at some clubs it's worth it to tip extra and others it's not.
