Default How long did it take to break in your first heel ?

So I'm going to start dancing and it's my first time dancing in stripper heels, I been wearing them for 3 days and it's still painful, I blow dry it too and it still hurts, it's my right size it fits perfect, it's clear on the bottom and black all over the top and has straps. It's from Ellie the name brand.

Takes a couple of shifts for me. I prefer Pleasers to Ellie. Are you SURE they're the right size? I'd give them about a week and see how you feel. If they still hurt, chances are they're too tight.

Yeah I am size 7 and the 7 fit good but I noticed when I walk in it my feet slip down all the time. If it's still hurting in a week should I try the clear shoes instead ? I got them at the adult store where I live.

Not one, but two layers of gel inserts for the soles.

Rub a thin layer of Vaseline either directly over your feet where the straps are (both the instep and round the ankle), or along the insides of the straps themselves. You can always re-apply as needed.

If you have a bit of room in them after the two layers of gel inserts, you can try wearing some thin socks for a while to cushion against blisters. Closed or open-toe, or I also have a few sets of black stirrup-style leg warmers that I put the heel through as I put on the shoes and fasten the ankle straps over them for a little extra support. Get black ones to match the straps and they will look more like they are part of the shoe.

Yeah. Ellies are more durable than pleasers when it comes to weaponry.

Damn, I never have to break mine in. They're comfy from the get-go. Now I feel like a fortunate aberration.

Bambi strippers love their heels. Thin girls can walk in anything! I'm athletic, HWP 150 lbs, and i could never walk in most stripper heels. The only heels i could walk confidently in and truly dance in were chunky Ellies. Like, i literally don't think i would've had a dancing career if not for those heels. And i grew up doing ballet, so it isn't an issue of having weird arches or poor balance.

I'm not sure if this is your issue, OP, but that was just my experience. I think women who weigh 100 lbs often have different considerations when it comes to footwear than those of us who are heavier. Shrugs.

What about taking the shoe to the shoe repair shop to stretch it with their equipment ?

OP, which part of your foot hurts in those? Is the plastic cutting into your feet? Or are your arches hurting? Soles?

It's the plastic that is cutting my feet it's so bad like it cuts my skin and it's red and a deep cut on my toes, everything else is fine.

A perfect fit when you're just chilling, or taking shoes for a spin round the shop before buying won't necessarily be so perfect halfway into a shift because your feet tend to swell, especially when you're still adjusting to dancing.

I have two beautiful pairs of brand new heels that a friend gave me as a going-away gift. They are a size 6 Pleasers and they fit like a glove, as long as I am not doing anything. But even just trying to wear them round the house to break them in, they proved to be too small. No amount of heating or shop adjustment is going to make them fit right for a full shift of dancing. (So if anyone is in the market for new heels, PM me!)

You might just be better off trying the next full or even half size up. It's much easier to work with a shoe that's a tad too big than a tad too small IMO, and if you're adjusting your gait too much to compensate for discomfort or difficulty walking, you risk injury as well.

Charlie also made a very good point about how your build may influence what kind of heel will be most comfortable and easiest to manage. I need chunky heels too, at 5'4 with an athletic build. Stilettos are gorgeous, but not always practical.

I'm 108 pounds I am very tiny but the shoes still hurt, I picked a size 7 cause that's my size but nothing seems to be working at all.

I would try at least the next half size up. Those gel insoles will be a life saver even after you've broken in your shoes. I just suggest two layers because that's what I started doing as my joints got more cantankerous and it made a difference.

Also, if your club allows them, have you tried any boot styles? I think thigh highs with a thicker heel (admittedly pretty hard to find) tend to provide the greatest support, and I rarely had any problems with breaking them in. Plus you can layer socks inside them if you get a slightly larger size, and have some protection from bruises/pole burn. I recommend the Electra-3000, I think it's from Pleaser.

Where do you get gel insoles ? I don't know if they allow boots I haven't worked there yet, I am going to audition but not until my feet don't hurt.

Dr Scholls work just fine, you can find them at Walmart, CVS, maybe Walgreens. A dancer supply store might also have them.

Okay thank you, why do all strippers or most strippers have the clear plastic shoes ?

They can be found for cheap, they give a greater illusion of longer legs/floating effect and they go with anything you might wear. But white, red and especially black are also versatile.

Okay so when I get a bigger size should I wear socks to break them in or just wear it with bandages ?

I like socks because IME, bandages and even mole skin kept slipping and needing to be adjusted or re-applied. Socks just need a little tugging back into place and you're golden. But they can also get hot and sweaty. I think it's just a matter of preference, and which annoyance annoys you less :-P

To me, it seems like your feet are misplaced in the shoes. Tell me, when you walk in the shoes, were are the tip of your toes placed? If they even just tend to slide out in front, they’re too big.
Generally you should buy those heels half a size to a size smaller than the size you normally wear because the plastic over your toes always will stretch out a little. And when it does, your feet will slide forward.

The tip of my toes are sticking out, their hanging out. But if I get a smaller size than it will be way too tight for me and hurt even more ?
