Default doubts about going into work

I’m just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Every time and I mean EVERY single time before going into work, I have these major doubts and anxiety whether I should go that day or not. My reasons for doubts are usually being afraid of raids and not making any money. I guess I just have anxiety but I feel that mine is overboard sometimes. Like yesterday, I would start getting ready and then change my mind and stop and decide not to go. But then 5 min later, I’d decide to go... I ended up going, but I just drive myself nuts sometimes with these doubts. Anyone else experienced this? What do you do?

If raids are a major thing to worry about in your area, I would consider quitting (at least until you can move elsewhere) or start travelling to tamer areas, especially if you're not actually the kind of girl they would be looking for. Nothing sucks like getting swept up in a raid when you've done nothing.

As to the anxiety, I have always had it to some degree, and I notice looking back that it was MUCH worse when I was working in skeezy clubs because I was always a very clean dancer. If you're in an extras-ridden area or club and you don't roll that way, I would think it's natural to have that fear of not being able to make anything because customers are looking to get their rocks off rather than be entertained. Again, I would suggest trying a different club or area to remedy this, at least in part.

I am also very introverted so the typical cold approach at work doesn't come easily to me. The only way round it IME is to just embrace the suck, and power through it until your find your groove for the shift. Just getting myself in the door, getting ready, and knocking out those first few approaches is the hardest part. Acknowledge the anxiety, acknowledge that it sucks and doesn't feel good, and tell it (your anxiety) to stuff it or at least keep the internal bitching down to a dull roar because you've got shit to do!

Very relatable! I like to consult the I Ching. Sometimes I literally let it decide for me. I like this online version: https://www.ichingonline.net/

I go with the reading and my gut. It's also fun to re-read the hexagrams and their interpretations AFTER my shift because they're always right.

Not going to lie, though, I have plenty of days where I'm shaved, makeup, hair and nails done, and just decide NOT to go in.

I took the day off one day this week and apparently 3 cop cars were right at the entrance of the club that I worked at. Needless to say, I won't be working there anymore. Not worth their continuous visits. Looking elsewhere! lol

I used to struggle with this too. Every time I wanted to go to work that night the anxiety monster would rear its ugly head. The only times i felt 100% confident were Saturday’s when I knew it would be busy. What worked for me honestly was learning to push through and go to work anyway despite the negative voice in my head. Eventually I learned that I was still making money despite my fears beforehand. That and becoming more confident in my own abilities to hustle, which takes time and experience to develop. It probably took me about 5 years to completely overcome my pre-work jitters. But yeah the best thing you can do for now is to push through. Even if you don’t have a great night you are cultivating discipline.

With that said however, if your fear of going to work is stemming from it being an unsafe environment, time for a new club.

Avoidance is a coping strategy of mine. So I have to push myself through it and remind myself that I’m happier with money
