Hey ladies, anyone recommend some industry related books? I would love in particular to read the diary of a dancer or escort from the 1990s and back. Thank you!! Let's start a book club![]()

I'm not a lady, but Lily Burana wrote Strip City.
It's a good book, she's a talented writer.
Sarchasm (n): The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it

Some recs-
Amanda Brooks "The Texas Golden Girl"
Delores Fox "Working"
Anything by Norma Jean Aldomovar (she still does a lot of advocacy for sex workers.)
Xaviera Hollander "The Happy Hooker" ( a classic, worth hunting down.)
Carl Hiassen "Stiptease" (it's extremely amusing.)

OMG!!!!!! I watched a TV special on her case.
It was so sad because she was a "Fairy Godmother" type Madam, but life being as it is...Something that great could not last.
Incidentally Delores Fox WARNED Biddle Barrows that she would get busted.....At the time Biddle Barrows felt she was untouchable.

I just read full disclosure by Stormy Danielle’s. She writes about the stigma of adult entertainment. There’s a lot of stories about people that treat her like a dumb porn star when she’s very intelligent -yep I can relate to that. It was validating to hear her experiences in the industry, but I’m not her target audience. I’ve already heard and seen enough stripper shit that I don’t want to spend hours reading about it. I really admire her for her speaking her truth and how successful she is in this industry.

Jenna Jameson biography is a decent read.

I forgot "Brothel" by Alexa Albert. It was written right when the rise of the Internet was beginning to affect how LPIN houses work so some of the book is more historical, but it has a lot of educational/enlightening parts.

Does Memoirs of a Geisha count?
When I was 12... that was the Bible to me. I own a copy just cause of it's effect on me as a human being.
In my life, please reincarnate me as a Geisha.
I was introduced by my good friend Madonna...

Then I read the book...
I actually don't think I seen the movie from start to end. That book is in my top 5 books. I wouldn't be me if it weren't for that book let's just leave it at that.
