Default My club made me re sign a contract

When I got hired at my club, I signed a contract. That’s pretty standard. But today I showed up to work and they told me that I need to bring my ID and resign the contract because it’s the new year and they updated it.
When I asked what was updated, they told me it’s the last page yet they made me resign the whole thing. Also, what concerns me is that it’s February and I definitely worked in January and no one mentioned any new contracts back then.
When I asked a copy, they started saying I need to get it from corporate office. I read it of course, but I’m not a lawyer and I didn’t see anything bad in there.
I guess my question is: do you think it could potentially be something bad?

I have had clubs do that before. Sometimes the lawyers want to add something in so they have to have the whole club resign it. It's annoying and they usually get annoyed if you ask too many questions. SMH.

Do you work at a corporate club? My club is part of the Deja Vu chain and they re-do contracts around this time every year.

I’ve had clubs do that before. Sometimes ovsr something simple as house fee changes or re-wordinv badly worded contracts. Last year my club redid contracts in march. I dont think any club is organized enough to do them immediately after the new year.

This is normal, sometimes we sign new contracts more than once a year at my club.

That happened to me once. I said “I’ll have my lawyers look at it”, threw it on the table and never picked it back up.

When they haggle you about reviewing it/getting a copy to review before signing.....just know you are taking that risk. No you’re not a lawyer and that’s why you’d benefit from a lawyer reviewing it with you before you sign.

Of of course they are going to say whatever they need to get you to sign so it saves them from liability if you continue to work there but don’t sign
