Default Stripping is the only job I am happy with

Is that a little strange or what? The happiest I’ve ever been is when I stripped full time and went to school. No straight job. Then after graduating, I decided it was time to quit the cabaret life and set myself straight on a path of “conventional” life. I got a job at a big corporation priding myself on being able to conceal my employment gap with lies their HR department couldn’t uncover.
Two months into it I started feeling extremely miserable, so after working there for a year, I changed jobs blaming the Corp I was working for for my misery. Its been 5 years now and 3 different companies and I’m as miserable as ever. Keep reminiscing of days I was able to strip full time and not worry about my resume.
Heres the question: I know for a fact I cannot strip until I turn 50 or so. My physical and mental capacity for this job will dry up in 5 years or so. I love and will ride it out as much as I can but I have to think about a future. Hopefully one where I’m not miserable. Lol
has any of you ever found anything after stripping that you liked just as much? I know we are all different, but who knows, maybe what you found will work for me too.

I liked restaurant work as much as stripping but most of the time the work is harder (on the whole body) plus pay is usually lower.

Try to identify exactly what you like about stripping and brainstorm some ideas of how that can eventually apply to another job that's more longterm. Is it the money? Being in control of your schedule? Socializing with new people? The lack of routine and monotony? Pinpointing exactly what it is about stripping that you like and what you don't like about corporate jobs will help you get a better idea of what type of longterm careers you might want to pursue.

I am back in school for Classical Chinese Medicine/acupuncture and herbs. I tried being an RN. Worked as a nurse for 9 years. Fucking haaaaated that job. Anyway... I am hoping doing acupuncture and prescribing tailored herbal formulas will be more sustainable. It is a whole-person medicine that catches things early, before they get so deeply engrained in the physical body that they become more difficult to treat. I like helping people but I don't like running my ass off for 12 hours with 5-6 patients, putting out fires that could have been prevented if people knew how to fucking take care of their bodies (and had the means to do so). Aaaanyway. Dancing is my favorite job, too lifeguarding was pretty fun and chill, but pays peanuts.

Also I did use the book "What color is your parachute"... it's one thing that helped me arrive at the Acupuncturist idea

I do love the money of course. But my most important factor I think is that I don’t owe this club I work at anything. I don’t have a schedule obligation. I don’t have to ask if I can take a day off or a week off or a month off. I don’t have to explain myself if I’m late or if I want to leave early. I was thinking about it and figured that if a club told me what days I can and can’t work and made me explain myself if I’m late, I’d start hating it just as much as Corp jobs. And if Corp jobs were as free as stripping, I’d love any of them. Haha. I guess my issue is schedules and having to get permission from someone to do something with MY life like a doctor visit or a vacation.

One of the main reasons I don’t like corporate is the managers tend to be very sociopathic and power hungry and the coworkers who will snitch you out to manager because they think it will earn them promotions lol. And you’re forced to interact with these people with shitty personalities daily

I enjoy coming and going as I please and I hate asking mfs if i can take breaks, use vacations, and fucking do anything while I’m there is the epitome of being treated like a child or obedient “slave”

I think it's more about how awful working corporate is than anything else!

The closest thing that I could find in terms of money and independence is the artistic and creative route. If you're any good at painting or anything similar there's a plethora of short courses on how to make a career out of that if you look!

If you like stripping that much try other adult jobs (go into other work or camming connection for ideas) or start a business related to stripping (like pole dance studio). It sounds like you enjoy being an entrepreneur and there’s many opportunities for that

For me it's freedom. A 2 or 3 week vacation a year to me sounds fucking brutal. I get bored easily as well, and looking at a computer screen 8 hours for 5 days sounds like misery to me too. Especially if the starting out pay is fucking shit.

I feel ya... It's not so much that I enjoy dancing itself (serious introvert here, I hate having to make conversation with strange and usually boring men all night) but the freedom and pay is unbeatable really. I've had other jobs I didn't mind or liked, but quit because of managers. I've been a full-time dancer for 5 years... My longest tenure at a job before I went full-time was 15 months (and that was only because it was for family & I had a fair bit of leeway/was left alone a lot).

If you like what stripping entails & get bored easily with long shifts or office jobs, Snuffle is right about restaurant work as a server or bartender. Short shifts & the pay can be really good depending where you get in. Some of my SO's servers make just as much hourly as we do on weekends... If you get in with a restaurant that does those Ziosk things you can make a ton (they get lots of tables) or if you work up to a really fancy restaurant you can clean house that way.

Otherwise maybe you have to look into being your own boss somehow. If you get bored easily, maybe doing multiple side-hustle type jobs would be good? Maybe just being an entrepreneur of some kind would be enough to keep you interested?

Oh, I just thought too... I think sometimes we struggle so badly in straight jobs is because we've seen the other option. Most people have never known anything except having a boss & a paycheck.
It's kind of a curse sometimes because that nagging feeling is always there (at least for me) - "Man, I'm putting up with all this bullshit, I could go back to the club and do whatever I want". Sooo many girls quit for the real world but end up back at the club...

Always makes me think of the song in my sig - "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

I get it. I’m happy with my vanilla job, but stripping gives me a chance to break out of these walls of myself a little, and I’ve discovered things about myself I wasn’t aware of previously. And some days it’s just a little escape from reality for a bit. It makes perfect sense to me that it could be the only job someone’s happy or even content with.

I am currently working a corporate office job and can’t stand it. It is boring as hell, the pay sucks, and the rules are super strict! It’s a government company so compliance is a big issue here. I hate having to walk on eggshells worrying about whether or not I’m breaking a rule.
With adult work, you have so much more freedom and don’t have to worry about that shit—it is liberating in that regard! There is much more mobility too, I’m not confined to a desk all day and dancing gives me the opportunity to travel. Plus you can’t beat the unlimited earning potential and ability to choose your own schedule. Those are the 2 things I like the most because I hate living my life around my assigned work schedule and having to live paycheck to paycheck. For people like us, the best types of vanilla work would be self employment of some sort, working in a creative or beauty industry, or something that earns tips (like waitress, masseuse, etc).

There's this book I'm reading now and really enjoying, and I think you'd like it. It's called "100 Bullshit Jobs ...And How To Get Them" and it talks about being everything from an allergist, to a realtor, to a professional closet organizer. I'm really enjoying it. You will probably find yourself happiest as an entrepreneur or owning some sort of service-based business. For me it's the same. I can't be held accountable to show up somewhere from 9-5, 5 days a week. I like a lot of down time so I can actually enjoy life and pursue my interests. I don't like working under someone, having another person control my workload/hours. I'm really not cut out for it. It might also help to think about your skills and some of the things that interest you. There are a lot of jobs that have flexible schedules and high earning potential.

I'm definitely checking this book out. I can't stand having someone as my boss and being on a schedule. Even considered a budtender job but was like "Thats how much per hour?!"

I thought of crime scene cleanup but the pay is like "you're gonna make me clean up people's blood and death for only 35,000 a year and I have to have a boss on top of it?" I get frustrated searching for jobs.

Not to mention they release their bowels, too. I don’t think I could get with that program, either.

Jobs aren't supposed to make you happy, I think that's where people are usually unhappy about. It should be something that pays the bills and that's it, if you're job is your passion than great but passion doesn't pay bills sometimes.

I hate my job with a passion, though it's not the cause of my misery. I also hate knowing I am giving up x amount of money, given pro and cons, so I go based on that.

I think it has more to do with the job you have than dancing. If you're not happy, seek other vanilla jobs till you find what you're looking for and pros and cons weighed out. Or stay there. All depends on what you want to do.

“Your job isn’t suppose to make you happy.”

I have personal training certification sometimes I worry about it not being real work and the fact it’s still in the service industry and a luxury, but it’s a lot like dancing in that I’m using my body, sales, and most trainers make their own schedule. Also, training is a lot about psychology and being their friend-like dancing.

I’ve thought about being an RN but a still small voices says that’s not for me, but I like the idea of job security.

ill let you know how everything works out.
