I guess I hadn't realized that people were still getting actual implants in their butt as opposed to a natural fat transfer.
Yikes!
Is this still a big thing?

I saw a similar study that linked a higher cancer risk to a certain type of silicone breast implant.
In my opinion, caveat emptor (buyer beware.) Some people say dental surgeries like root canals up the risk of cancer. I still think it's worth it to have healthy teeth/mouth versus worry about that amount of risk.

Related trivia- some things that cause cancer are pretty much unavoidable. (Radon, sunlight, etc.)
& About a decade ago an older dancer I knew had her implants removed since her insurance would cover it...I now see she was probably factoring in the health risk in her decision. So...have implants for a while then get rid of them? Sounds like an option.....

One of my best friends shared a booker with this other girl who continued to work w them both independently after Backpage shut down. She died in 2017 following a massive infection from a butt implant gone wrong.

^im not sure she didn’t really know her so didn’t care to ask details, I do know that she did the procedure in South America. Doesn’t speak to the whole industry down there though I have another friend who’s had multiple plastic surgeries in Colombia with excellent care and results.
I’m really interested to see how both implants & injections are going to age over the years and modifications that’ll eventually be made, it’s like the first wave of beta testing that we’re seeing and so far most cases don’t look cute at all imo -_-

I worked with a very successful dancer who had a bunch of cosmetic work done in [unnamed Latin American country.] (I don't want to say much about her because a bunch of her haters read and post on here.)
She's alive and kicking years after her procedures. I know she does have great medical insurance so if she had post-surgery complications she got them checked out correctly.
IMO you can die from all sorts of random uncontrollable things, like a massive staph infection, too many bars of Xanax or a bad reaction to something you have allergies to....
I personally have had a bunch of surgeries and am just fine. The tough truth with cosmetic surgery is it requires research beforehand and proper aftercare/planning for any complications.
