The new trend is one I adore, beauty bloggers that don't endlessly shill new (often sponsored) makeup products and instead focus on using and prolonging what you have and love. I am guilty of splurging way too much on makeup and not really using any of it, and buying similar products over & over again. Anti-haul videos talk about makeup they're NOT going to buy and why. No-buys are exactly that, you go x days without buying anything related to makeup, although you can also use it for clothing and anything else you spend excess money on. I am just loving this trend of non-consumerism with makeup it is definitely a pricey hobby where you are always pressured to get the next new release so this is just refreshing to me.
https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeupRehab/ - A fantastic subreddit around makeup where you can talk about it without being bombarded by sales pitches and ads.
https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyGuruChatter/ - A good subreddit for reading honest discussion on any Beautuber, doesn't sound good initially but once I saw how dishonest a lot of them were (using filters and video editing, hiding paid sponsorships etc) it turned me off from a few and allowed me to focus on smaller beautubers that weren't out of touch and all "buy this new thing, buy that" in your face.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PanPorn/ - Pics of used up and empty products which would encourage you to use up stuff you already have instead of repeatedly buying new products
I also love watching videos like "3 looks 1 palette" or "10 looks 1 palette" sounds kind of like a shock porn title to me lol (like 2 girls 1 cup) but it allows you to see how versatile some palettes can be.
As well as videos showing small/compact, well loved makeup collections instead of huge collections that take up tons of space but nothing ever gets used twice.
