Default Is it normal that my manager is demanding me to tipout more?

I finally had a good night and i tipped everyone as much dances as i did but he said that its very rude of me to not take care of him and the door guy because he "doesnt have to do things for me" and because he let me continue my last dance after needing to clock out, he was also criticizing me the hole day he even had me speak to an older dancer about tipping and i gave them more money then went home and i felt so pissed am i being overly emotional ? the club takes 100 for house fee and half our money after that is how all clubs are?

In a club that already takes over half of your money, you really shouldn't have to tip out much or at all.

See if any other clubs in your area have a more fair split.

Managers demanding tips is gross, considering they might be the only staff in the building being paid more than minimum wage (or at ALL in some cases)

Unfortunately...most strip clubs are run this way. Most Spearmint Rhinos are run exactly the way you described. They require you to tip everyone out for each dance that you get. It was a $1 each topless and $2 a nude to everyone and their mother basically. If you didn’t tip them out the required amount they would basically treat you like dirt ie. mess up your schedule, over mark your dances...mess up your music, lights etc on purpose. They do not care if you are having a bad night basically. I’m not sure if your in California or another state. I haven’t danced in California for awhile now. The whole employee thing has changed things a lot for dancers.

Just look around for other clubs to work at and see if any of them have better payouts etc for dancers.

Definitely look elsewhere. It's never worth it to stay at a place where the higher-ups stoop to that kind of BS. The fact that yours is demanding more $$$ from you is one thing, and I think in some circumstances it can be worked around. But there seems to be a degree of threat implied by your post, and that is not something that you can work around IME.

Club's are getting out of control. $100 fee plus half my money and tip managers!!. I would only work there if I was making crazy money all the time. Greedy bastards.

Meh. My old club had managers who tried getting one over like that. I feel bad for the dancers still working there who need it as a major source of income. There really wasn’t a whole lot they could do to me… the money from stripping is an added bonus, not something I’m dependent on.

$100 house fee and 50% of your earnings is essentially being pimped out. It's common for managers and other employees to try to gouge you on nights you do well. I had this happen to me only a few nights ago. I put my foot down, told him the fee didn't make any sense and I refused to pay it. Worked in my favor because he dropped the subject. I really feel like some managers, DJs, etc., will try you to see what they can get away with. Unfortunately many clubs are greedy and have a "you owe me" mentality when in fact, you don't owe them anything. I hate working in clubs where it feels like managers have their hands down my g-string trying to get my money, but sadly it's more common than not from my experience. I really hate tip out culture. If I've never spoken a word to you in my life and I barely see your face, why should you be entitled to my money?

I heard a floor guy seem like he was complaining about the tip out he received and entertainers making much more than him. And I'm like why don't you become a stripper if you wanna make stripper money. And it's crazy good you can make more than minimum by having a lot of entertainers paying your tip out and just being there. And it's crazy that club owners don't have to pay many of the people working in the club and the entertainers are paying other people who work there.

I think it depends. We only tip management at most of the clubs I've worked. They usually don't ask for a tip unless you've done VIP or they've done you some sort of favor. If they want tips for nothing, I wouldn't give it to them.
