... and also recommendations for a good heat protectant.

I want something that is durable, heats evenly and glides without having to run over long locks of hair over and over. Don't we all? Are the irons in the $150-$300 range that much better than ones in the $100-$150 range? Especially for colored hair, extensions, and hair down to the ass.

There's so many options, I can't even start. Babyliss? GHD? Chi? Bio Ionic?

Protip- check out eBay or thrift stores for different irons to try out, and then when you find the type that works, buy a new one.

There is a thread on here about Irons. In my region (a high dry climate) the CHI iron is still huge, even though it's way expensive.

I know you said money isn't a problem but different hair textures can have different results on different kinds of irons. I have a ceramic one and a metal one & I prefer the ceramic now.

I have super thick, poofy hair naturally that gets really curly and wavy and CHI is a miracle worker for my hair! I have used it for over 10 years and don’t want to use anything else. And I have literally tried everything...nothing compares to CHI flat iron! It’s so worth the money...but you can get good deals on one at a JCPenney salon where they sell them for like $100 or less

whatever you decide to buy make sure you buy it from an authorized retailer because places like ebay or even amazon are full of fakes.

i have a sedu - its the sedu revolution...its lasted me i think 12 years which is really good considering i use it almost every day! when it breaks im going to get another.

This may not be a popular answer..

I use straightening style products only - Aveda Smooth Infusion, Ken Paves. There's also John Freida, 3 days straight.
I do have to do a fair amount of combing, I also use a Tangle Teezer brush (there's one for curly hair I like)
My hair's longer so I worry about damage.

    Just an idea
