    Default Starting an Online Business

Has anyone on here had any experience with having your own online business selling products? In particular, Shopify? I’m not talking about adult stuff either, I’m talking clothes, jewelry, accessories, etc. Or even stripper clothes and shoes. I was thinking of starting an online store on Shopify because I hear it’s easy to do, and you can have your products drop shipped so that you don’t have to worry about shipping and packaging. I want to try to save up some money first before I get into it, but does anyone have any experience with this or advice? I was looking into other websites too like Amazon, or any site where they host you. It would be my dream to work from home and earn passive income by selling things!

I went with building my online business as an affiliate or with network marketing as an IBO independent business owner.

mostly digital products, and getting members to events. coaching and high ticket priced information products. Then with network marketing, my primary are travel company and learning to trade in forex. The wieght loss company is for my own personal journey.

Some of the companies I Am connected with have online courses for selling psychical products. shopify, drop shipping stuff. so you might need to find an online course and just follow it.

I went the digital route because of the high chance of making a profit.

Some products are big hits in rural areas. For example a career dancer I worked with for a long long time opened her own boutique for hair (like wigs, falls and sew ins) and she is doing really well.

So if you can ship to areas that don't have stores for items like that, you can make a ton of money.

I sell eBay type items online but can't say anything interesting about it.

Interesting, thank you to both! ^ I was also thinking of selling digital non physical items as well, such as tarot and astrology readings which I’m really good at. I could sell those on Etsy also. And yes, I would definitely ship to rural areas since they tend to really love online shopping. I’m doing tons of research on what are the best products to sell, I’m definitely not going to jump into anything too soon.

Sounds like a great idea. It has its pros and cons. The major con is of course there is no “steady income” that’s guaranteed and in any business the chance of actually losing money on expenses, etc is a great possibility. The pro is there is no glass ceiling you can possibly earn billions/millions/multiple hundreds thousands, you are the boss, and you have flexibility in your schedule.

I would suggest using Keen.com to get started. Its a well established platform that comes with traffic plus billing. And then also purchase a domain name then set up a WordPress site. Make sure the name on keen is the same as the domain name so people can find your other stuff through google. You'll also need to create social media accounts with the same name: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and of course Tumblr. You don't have to throw yourself into social media marketing right away but it's best to lock down your name right as soon as possible. A platform like Keen will help you build a name in the beginning. Also you can place their call buttons on your website.

You can then embed shopify or etsy scripts into the website to sell other content. The first step is to decide what it is that you want to do and what it is that you do well. Then scope out the competition to see what they aren't offering. You create and fill that hole. That's how you carve out a name for yourself. Good luck, I'm excited for you!

Gourmet items. I had trouble finding a pepper mill.
