Default Phones /Laptops when Traveling through customs

    Hey girls
I keep hearing about some girls getting banned in the US or Australia when traveling since the Eros raid ..
what do y’all tell them what you do for loving and what do you do with things like phones and laptops as they ar legally allowed
to check those and a few girls have been caught this way.

Do you ship your phones/ laptops??
How safe is it to shop these ?

How most likely is it that they’re going to
qiestion one? What airports to avoid when entering the country ?

They've been looking through American Smartphones when entering Canada (Customs does this)...FWIW my friend was going there for a job interview that had absolutely nothing to do with any vice related occupation. He has a spotless record too.

I would advise you to ship any electronics and work clothes.

Can you run the battery down completely so it is not running? Inspections are probably for bombs or drugs.

What if they get a hold of a charger and check it that way? Unfortunately Customs agents can be ….really rude and demanding.

I don't think they are legally allowed to look what's on electronics. Never heard about it. I've only traveled from Europe to Us and back though multiple times.

Agree with this. When I have travelled, I check my suitcase but keep a carry-on and my laptop bag with me at all times. I have never, ever had anyone ask to inspect my bags or my electronics beyond the belt scanner, even when going through Customs.

Then again, I have only ever travelled for holidays as opposed to travelling for work. Is that maybe where people are getting tripped-up?

I know coming into Canada CBSA can search your phone or laptop. They are usually looking for things like illegal porn, texts that might indicate you are smuggling illegal items or evidence that you are coming to work illegally. People who have refused to give their passwords have been arrested for obstruction. It is probably best to delete anything off of your phone you don't want customs to see before going through the border.

But would they want to spend that much time?

I could be wrong but I thought search warrants were required for law enforcement to access passcode protected devices but now that tech has evolved into fingerprint and facial recognition idk https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.4e22cf6b3f34

And also while deleting things can be sufficient for basic search of devices, deleted texts can be recovered. https://www.cio.com/article/2378005/...ink-again.html and deleted websites browsed can be retrieved https://www.howtogeek.com/178277/htg...lly-delete-it/ and more..... so just don’t look at questionable things in the first place.

Like mentioned above, this is time consuming, and I doubt they’d go to these lengths unless they have reason to suspect criminal activity

In most cases law enforcement does need a warrant to gain access to your phone, however a lot of the usual protections against being searched don't apply at the border. Unlike regular COPS, US Customs officers have very broad powers to search you and your belongings without a warrant when you are crossing into the country. This article covers their current policy on cell phone searches: https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/u...arch-1.4494371

That having been said, I don't think they usually bother looking through people's electronics unless they already suspect the person is up to something. The officer's have hundreds of people they have to process, so they won't usually waste time on a phone search unless they think they are is something incriminating on it.

I have a friend who was trying to travel to Canada to strip and escort. She said they took her phone, went through it, read texts, and such and didn't allow her to enter Canada.

    Wow, I wonder why.
I guess there's more reasons why they're moving here

I have a feeling that there's more to the story than she wanted to tell me. She did say that she had the name of the strip club there and the phone number programmed in her phone. Surely they couldn't have said,"Aha, a stripper! Nope, we don't want any of those coming over here." I'm thinking maybe there were some explicit texts that should've been deleted or something.
