    Default St. Louis? Relocating

I am considering in relocating to St. Louis for a while, maybe years. I just receive a job offer which is 5K less than I make but would be more interesting and less boring. My current job pays 60k but I am not enjoying it but it's easy job too.

Also my hometown city bores me because it has no culture or big city feel which I think St. Louis might have and it has affordable housing.

Also I think I might be happier. That's about it.

But I'm leaving an easy job behind for one that has more work.

Also more dancing opportunity, in state college looks easier...

Yea it's supposed to be one of the most Dangerous areas, in the country!

I know there was a former member on here that danced in the area.

Saint Louis isn't THAT bad. It is working class, though.

Honestly, the only way to know is to visit there. I did a lot of speculation, but until I visited I couldnít make up my mind. Thereís pros and cons to living in a big city. It really depends on what your priorities are. I thought I would like to live in a big city, but I felt people were rude, I saw on more than one occasion people in the street crying out loud to God for help, and had some serious safety concerns. The pros were the diversity, new experiences, and more opportunities. Even though I donít like living in a small city; Iím not sure Iíd be much happier in a big city. Some people can shake that stuff off, but it really stressed me out. I would just visit to see if you like it. Ask yourself whatís the worst thing that happens if you move there and donít like it? Move again? Whatís most important to you?

I live a few hours from stl and it's not that bad, it's just grungy and dirty there if you ask me. Ive never really been a big fan of stl. Theres only like 2 strip clubs there. Ive never been to them so i can't say really anything about them but ive had friends go there on the weekends and dance and make about a grand a weekend.

You probably don't want to take a pay cut to move to St. Louis. 20k more, sure, but a pay cut? I'd try another city, especially one with an increase in revenue. There are expenses and time cost associated with moving as well.

IMHO you shouldn't jump just to jump, especially for a situation that is more work and less money. I understand the quality of life issues, but there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to orchestrate a jump that benefits you on all fronts, especially with how the economy is right now. It just may take a little more time and planning.

    In any event, good luck!
